RHOBH alum Brandi Glanville seemingly defended TV personality Jill Zarin after the latter made statements about Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl Halftime performance. In a now-deleted Instagram video, Zarin claimed that Bunny’s performance, which was majorly in Spanish, was inappropriate and vulgar. Following that, she was fired from the RHONY reunion hosted by E!.
Brandi Glanville was married to actor Eddie Cibrian for almost a decade. They have two children. On February 10, Glanville shared an X post, writing:
“OK #1 I have a HUGE crush on BadBunny I wanna be his Mrs. Robinson the 1/2 show rocked. My friend @Jill Zarin has her own opinion & I don't agree with it AT ALL but opinions aren't wrong they're subjective.I want to watch Jill on TV explain herself& hopefully learn something.Or we can just keep watching "yes people"afraid to share.”
The RHONY reunion show was produced by Blink49 Studios. Following Zarin’s comments about Bad Bunny, the studio released a statement, mentioning:
“In light of recent public comments made by Jill Zarin, Blink49 Studios has decided not to move forward with her involvement in ‘The Golden Life.’ We remain committed to delivering the series in line with our company standards and values.”
She also received backlash from Zarin Fabrics, a store that was once owned by her ex-husband, Bobby. They mentioned that they stood against discrimination, racism, and similar rhetoric. The store clarified that Jill was in no way associated with the business. They are an independent company, and whatever statements she made did not reflect their values and ethos.
Jill Zarin's comments about Bad Bunny explored
During her Instagram rant, Jill Zarin said that it was the worst halftime show. She said that having the halftime show in Spanish was not right. She also criticised certain gestures made by Bad Bunny during the show. Overall, she felt that the performance was more like making a political statement as it lacked white people. She claimed:
“I think it was a political statement, and I’m not taking a side one way or the other. I just do. I think it was an ICE thing. And I just think that the NFL sold out and it’s very sad because 75 years and you know, shame. Shame!”
Jill Zarin even brought Lady Gaga into her rant, as she said:
“And Lady Gaga got a facelift. I didn’t recognize her. I literally had to Google her face to see who it was. We all couldn’t agree who it was. So that was kind of fun in the middle of halftime. At least it gave me something to do, because it was so hard to watch.”
Jill Zarin said that since the show was in Spanish, she faced difficulty knowing the words Bad Bunny said.
