Sister of actress Kelly Missal, Catherine Missal, or commonly known as Cat Missal, who was catapulted to fame after starring in Meaghan Oppenheimer's Hulu original series Tell Me Lies, shed light about her sexuality during a recent interview with Teen Vogue, as per Just Jared.
During her conversation with Teen Vogue, the 26-year-old Cat Missal, who plays Bree in the Hulu drama series starring Grace Van Patten, Jackson White, and Tom Ellis, discussed toxic men on the show and how she will no longer have to worry about them in real life.
Cat Missal has also starred in other movies and TV shows such as A House of Dynamite, Vacation, Movement and Location, and The Super Sproutlet Show. During the interview, she confirmed that she is gay. Missal said:
"Well, I am gay, so thank God."
According to reports, her girlfriend, Jess Panneton, a professional DJ, was with her during the interview. When Cat mentioned that she was gay, Jess, while smiling at her, said:
"You're safe with me."
While discussing how they met, Cat and Jess revealed they first met in Los Angeles at a drag show in West Hollywood. Jess Penneton is also the co-founder of the party brand Futch, a popular event for the underground queer crowd in Los Angeles. The party has hosted renowned figures like Chapelle Roan. In a 2025 Los Angeles Times interview, Amy Ordman, the other co-founder of Futch, talked about Futch and the time when Chapelle Roan attended the party, and said:
"She [Chapelle Roan] came to our second night. I came up to her and told her I loved 'Pink Pony Club'. Whenever a song of hers comes on at our party, people start screaming, they're jumping onstage. That feeling of tangibly belonging to a community is what Futch was born out of."

As they revealed how they met, Cat recalled the time when she thought Jess Penneton was so cool. Cat Missal, during the Teen Vogue interview, said:
"I just thought you were so cool. It just felt kismet because they were like, 'Who are you flirting with? Who's that?' And now we're all family."
