Jacknife Lee, the music producer behind Taylor Swift's 2012 song The Last Time, has made headlines recently, as his wife revealed he accidentally deleted an invite to the Amsterdam actress's wedding. As per an op-ed shared by HuffPost on July 8, Melissa Garner Lee wrote that she had spotted photos of Swift's July 3 nuptials with Travis Kelce at Madison Square Garden and asked her husband why they hadn't been there."'Wait, why weren't we invited? There are a thousand people there!'" she recalled asking.Jacknife Lee, now fifty-nine years old, told her that he got a text from Swift's manager but didn't reply to it. His real name is Garret Lee. He added that the message hadn't sounded right to him."It didn't sound like him," he said.Melissa pointed out that an assistant may have sent it. When she returned, Jacknife asked her why she'd "even want to go" to the wedding in the first place. Melissa had her answer ready."I wanted to go because it would give me a bit of hope," she shared.She also added that the nuptials might have offered her "hope for love," "hope for some good in the world," and "maybe hope in America at a dark time."It was at that point, Melissa wrote, that Jacknife Lee understood the full weight of what he had done.
