The Good Wife alum Josh Charles has made multiple headlines recently, as his wife Sophie Charles had a playful dig at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's no-phones wedding rule. Sophie, who is now forty-two years old, posted a video to her Instagram on July 4 with the caption "Snuck a phone into MSG." The clip showed her cracking open a gold flip-phone pendant from her jewelry company, Mad Fine, after which she added, "Not a functional phone!" Josh Charles and Sophie, formerly Sophie Flack, have been married since Sept. 6, 2013, when the couple exchanged vows at a private Manhattan residence, followed by dinner at an upscale Italian restaurant. That being said, Sophie wasn't the only one poking fun at the no-phones policy. Joseph Kahn, who directed several of Swift's music videos, took to X sharing that he was ready to have his phone back, writing,"I haven't been without my phone that long since 1992."As per a statement shared on July 3, a rep for Taylor Swift, confirmed that Swift and Travis Kelce had officially wed. Austin Swift served as his sister's Man of Honor, Jason Kelce stood as Travis' Best Man, and the ceremony was officiated by friend Adam Sandler. He was drawn to comedy early. His parents took him to open mic nights as a young kid, and a summer spent at theater camp ended up being the experience that pointed him toward performing for good. Charles dropped out of high school and made his professional debut at fifteen, playing a sneering teenager in John Waters' Hairspray. Two years later he landed a role as a prep school kid in Dead Poets Society, the 1989 box office hit that took home the Oscar for best screenplay. His co-star Ethan Hawke later recalled that Charles was a funny teenager who genuinely loved acting and would talk about Baltimore sports teams.(L-R) Ethan Hawke and Jeanne Tripplehorn attend FX's "The Lowdown" FYC Carpet at NYA EAST on May 30, 2026 in Los Angeles, California - Source: GettyThat being said, Josh Charles wasn't the only one in the Dead Poets Society cast to later cross paths with Taylor Swift. Both he and Hawke appeared in Swift's Fortnight music video, and it was on that very set that Charles cornered Swift's then-fiancé Travis Kelce to bend his ear about a bad call made against the Ravens. As per a report shared by The Sun, Sophie's background is equally varied. The forty-two-year-old studied at Columbia University and danced professionally with the New York City Ballet before pivoting to a career that spans authoring, journalism, ghostwriting and editorial consultation.
