Gospel star Marvin Sapp had made multiple headlines after tying the knot for the second time. The pastor married his fiancée, Dr. La'Boris Cole, on March 20, 2026. As per an exclusive report with Essence, Sapp held a private ceremony at The Chosen Vessel in Fort Worth, Texas.

Dr. La'Boris Cole is a therapist and ministry leader. As per another report shared by Essence, she founded the Born 2 Danz Worship Arts Conference and serves as its executive director. Cole also founded Cole Associates & Counselors of Texas, a behavioral health practice, and serves as its CEO. Her goal is to help people find healing, see their worth, and pursue what God has called them to do.

Marvin Sapp's wife hails from Mississippi, and as per Dr. La'Boris Cole's website, she wrote Wisdom Over War- How I Dodged a Bullet. The book discusses spiritual warfare, narcissism, resilience, and wisdom.

Sapp, who is now fifty-nine years old, had gained fame for gospel songs like "Never Would Have Made It." He has stayed a key voice in Christian music and ministry for decades. His new marriage starts a fresh chapter after years of personal loss as the pastor's previous wife, MaLinda Sapp, died in 2010.

Marvin Sapp and La'Boris Sapp opened up about their marriage in their interview with Essence. Bishop Marvin shared that the wedding surprised everyone outside their immediate family.

"While our wedding was a surprise to everyone outside of our immediate family, it was about a year in the making for us. In 2024, we decided to exclusively date and made it clear with intention that this would be a courtship leading to marriage," shared Marvin.

He talked about why they picked their wedding date and revealed they set it before getting engaged.

"We chose March 20 since it is the beginning of spring, representing a new season both literally and figuratively. We set the date before we were engaged! We were focused on establishing an unbreakable bond between us and taking the necessary measures to ensure we were entering into a marriage with a clear and aligned focus," he added.

La'Boris shared why they decided to keep everything private from extended family and the public at first.

"We did everything in private before we shared anything with our extended family or the public. We didn't do this because it was a secret, but because it was sacred," explained La'Boris.

The couple also discussed their favorite wedding day moments:

La'Boris talked about a new memory she made with her family during the celebration.

"The helicopter ride with my dad and sister. It was an amazing bonding experience with them; my dad had never ridden in a helicopter before, and I'm so happy to have created that memory with him," shared La'Boris.

She talked about another meaningful moment from the day.

"My second favorite moment was the letter I wrote to my parents, which I read before I walked down the aisle. I acknowledged how much they meant to me and all that they did to raise me to be the woman that I am. That was very meaningful for me," continued La'Boris.

Marvin Sapp walked down the aisle with three children who fully supported his decision to remarry:

Marvin talked about what stood out most to him during the ceremony.

"Walking down the aisle with my children, knowing that they were in complete support of not only what I decided to do, but what they were going to be a part of," shared Marvin.

Marvin Sapp has three children with his late wife, MaLinda Prince Sapp. Marvin II, MiKaila, and Madisson are his children.

The couple was asked by Essence what they were most excited about now that they were married. La'Boris answered by saying that she wanted more joy and happiness in her life with Marvin.

"I look forward to more joy and happiness. That's what I have with him and what I've experienced with him up until this point – and I look forward to more of it. I look forward to continuing to build a legacy," shared La'Boris.

She explained that they were both goal-oriented and looked forward to reaching their goals together.

"As I mentioned earlier, we are both goal-oriented; I look forward to goals we will set and achieve together. I look forward to doing ministry together and changing the world one person at a time, one vision at a time, with each other," La'Boris added.

Marvin Sapp gave his answer as well. The pastor, who was a husband for 20 years before his late wife, MaLinda Prince Sapp, passed away, said that he felt better suited to marriage than being single.

"I've always told La'Boris that I'm a better husband than I am a boyfriend because I have more experience being a husband than I do being a single man. I was a husband for 20 years, nearly half my life at the time. I love being a husband. I'm looking forward to being who I've always known myself to be, to being back in that space of what I'm really good at," he shared.

Marvin Sapp also shared what excited him about being a husband again and revealed his top priorities.

"I'm looking forward to being an example, a covering, a husband in every sense of the world. I'm grateful that I have someone in my life to do ministry with – but I understand that she is my first ministry. It's her and my kids."
