Who are Mel C’s kids? Spice Girls star reflects on raising daughter out of spotlight amid Victoria Beckham family rift

Nicknamed Sporty Spice, Melanie Jayne Chisholm, who is best known as Mel C, seems to be glad that she could raise her daughter away from public attention and limelight.

Mel C, a member of the immensely popular British pop group Spice Girls, opened up about her daughter and how she managed to raise her away from media attention amid the Beckham family feud, as per Page Six.

The 52-year-old singer-songwriter, Mel C, aka Melanie C, made it clear that her 16-year-old daughter Scarlett does not plan to pursue her mother's profession. According to People Magazine, Mel C shares Scarlett with her previous romantic partner, Thomas Starr. Scarlett was born on February 22, 2009. Scarlett is the singer's only child.

As Melanie opened up about her daughter during a Sunday Times interview, which was published on January 24, 2026, she said:

"So relieved! It's so hard to be in the shadowof a parent who's had success."

Melanie went ahead and said:

"The thing is, with Scarlett, she's not in the public eye. I made that conscious decision when she was a baby."

Mel C mentions her experiences with fame

During her interview, Mel C discussed how her friends chose differently when it came to introducing their kids in the media. She mentioned her experiences with fame and how she was not comfortable making that decision on behalf of Scarlett and said:

"Obviously I have friends who handle it very differently, each to their own, no judgement at all. But for me, probably because of my experiences with fame, I didn't feel comfortable making that decision for her."

While talking about Emma Bunton, another member of the Spice Girls, with whom Melanie has always been the closest, she said:

"I've always been really close to Emma."

According to Page Six, on January 24, 2026, members of the Spice Girls got together to celebrate Bunton's 50th birthday, where Mel B, or Melanie Brown, was the only one not present. Keeping her current family feud aside, Victoria Beckham, who was there at Bunton's birthday party, posed with her girl gang. Victoria took to Instagram and posted a picture of her with her bandmates, with a caption that read:

"Happy birthday to the most beautiful soul @emmaleebunton I love you girls so much @gerihalliwellhorner @melaniecmusic xxxxxxx"
