Mindy Glazer is a Miami-Dade County Circuit Court Judge in Florida. The Florida 11th Circuit Court judge went viral this week after a clip from Rick Ross's bond hearing made the rounds on social media. As per a report shared by The Hollywood Reporter, Ross was arrested in Miami Beach early Thursday on a battery charge, after a woman he was living with told police he had hit her.

Ross's attorney pushed for an expedited release, leaning on his client's celebrity status to make the case. However Mindy Glazer wasn't having it.

"I have no idea who you are," she told Ross.

Glazer has served on the Florida 11th Circuit Court since 2001, with her current term running through January 7, 2031. She won re-election outright without appearing on the ballot, as both the primary and general elections scheduled for 2024 were canceled. She received her B.A. from the University of Miami in 1988, and her J.D. from St. Thomas University School of Law in 1991.

This isn't her first viral courtroom moment either. Back in 2015, Glazer recognized a former classmate during proceedings, a clip that drew wide attention at the time, and the two crossed paths in her courtroom again in 2024.

Mindy Glazer's viral moment grows:

Ross, whose legal name is William Roberts II, surrendered at the Miami Beach Police Station two days after the woman filed her report with police. As per a report shared by The Hollywood Reporter, Ross faces a felony charge of battery by strangulation, as well as a misdemeanor battery charge, according to online court records.

An attorney for Ross released a statement insisting his client was being wrongfully accused by an ex-girlfriend whose true motivations remain unclear. Defense attorney Steve Sadow added the following:

"The ex did not even file a police report until a month after the claimed incident allegedly took place."
"Mr. Roberts is innocent and has pled not guilty to the charges. He respectfully requests that his friends, fans and the general public not prejudge the situation and allow the judicial process to run its course," Sadow continued.

Ross was later released from jail on a $5,000 cash bond, with an arraignment scheduled for October 22.

Mindy Glazer's past viral courtroom moment resurfaces:

As per a report shared by KTLA5, back in July 2015, Mindy Glazer was presiding over a bond hearing in Miami-Dade Circuit Court for Arthur Booth, who was forty-nine years old at the time, when she recognized him as a former middle school classmate. Booth had been arrested after he was seen fleeing a burglary in Hialeah. Mindy Glazer stopped the proceedings to ask him a question.

"Mr. Booth, I have a question for you," she said.
"Yes ma'am," Booth responded.
"Did you go to Nautilus for middle school?" she asked.

Booth looked stunned for a moment before the recognition hit him.

"Oh my goodness," Booth said.

Booth then broke down in tears and repeated the words,

"Oh my goodness."

Mindy Glazer, visibly moved, addressed the court and recalled that Booth was once someone the other kids looked up to.

"He was the best kid in middle school, I used to play football with him, all the kids looked up to him. And look what has happened. I'm so sorry to see you there," she said.

Mindy Glazer then wished him well before the hearing concluded.

"Good luck to you, sir. I hope you're able to come out of this OK and just lead a lawful life," she said.

Rick Ross and his storied career in the spotlight as details of the alleged incident surface:

As per the arrest report, a woman told Miami Beach detectives that she had been living with Ross on August 28, when he accused her of cheating and struck her multiple times. She added that Ross also choked her with the collar of her shirt and slammed her into a wall, before she was eventually able to leave the home and return later to collect her belongings.

This isn't Ross's first brush with the law. He pleaded no contest in 2017 to aggravated assault after being accused of beating a man with a handgun at his suburban Atlanta mansion in 2015. Under a first-offender program in Georgia, the court later exonerated him of guilt on that felony count.

Ross, a longtime South Florida resident, first gained prominence in 2006 with his debut single Hustlin', which was certified platinum twice and sparked a bidding war that led to him signing with Def Jam Records. His debut album, Port of Miami, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. He has since been nominated for nine Grammy Awards and founded the influential label Maybach Music Group in 2008, boosting the careers of artists like Meek Mill, Wale and French Montana.
