Reality TV personality Tim Janus died at 49 on September 16, 2026, after struggling with cancer for quite some time. According to TMZ, the unfortunate news of Tim's passing was confirmed by his representative to Major League Eating, an organization known for dealing in events related to competitive eating.
Born in Connecticut, Tim Janus, who was nicknamed Eater X, ranked in the second position as a global competitive eater. With a glorious career in competitive eating that stretched over a decade from 2006 to 2018, Janus was also crowned the champion of a ramen-eating competition after he ate 10.5 pounds of ramen within just eight minutes in 2007.
As per TMZ, Tim Janus is survived by his family, which includes both his parents and a sister. Besides being a world-famous competitive eater, Tim has also starred in the popular CBS reality TV show The Amazing Race, in which he competed with the world champion in competitive eating, Joey Chestnut.
Some of Tim's major achievements include championships in tiramisu eating and sushi eating. According to Entertainment Weekly, Janus has a record of eating four pounds of tiramisu within six minutes and one hundred and forty-one pieces of nigiri sushi within six minutes.
