TK Carter passed away at the age of 69 after a 911 call on January 9th. The actor, known for his roles in cult horror classic The Thing, series such as Police Woman and Good Times, was found dead at his home in Duarte, California.
The cause of death has not been revealed yet, and the authorities, who were called at 17:42 local time, did not report any foul play. Carter is survived by his wife, Janet Carter, and his son, Thomas. It was Janet who made the 911 call on the evening of January 9th.
According to reports, their official wedding date has not been publicized, but the couple has reportedly been together for decades and shares one son, who is also often referred to as Thomas Kent Carter Jr.
Born in New York City and later relocating to Southern California with his family, TK Carter has a career spanning decades. He got his first big break with The Thing, which was directed by John Carpenter, in which he played the role of Naul. But that is not all, as he has quite a long and versatile discography.
He has played roles in Family Matters, Jem, Just Our Luck, Moesha, The Waltons, The Transformers, The Steve Harvey Show, Good Morning, Miss Bliss, The Jeffersons, Dave, The Sinbad Show, 227, and The Nanny, starting in the mid-70s. TK Carter also has films like My Favorite Martian, Southern Comfort, Space Jam, Doctor Detroit, Ski Patrol, and Seems Like Old Times attached to his name.
His latest appearance was in three episodes of The Company You Keep and Lil Dicky's series Dave in 2023.
