Billy Bob Thornton was stuck in a severe winter storm in New Jersey this week, which prevented him from physically appearing at a benefit show in Los Angeles, according to TMZ. However, that didn’t stop the actor, who still took to the stage via FaceTime.Billy was set to host country singer and friend Dwight Yoakam's benefit event at a Children's Hospital in L.A. The star was in New Jersey to shoot the film Somedays with Ariana Greenblatt, and the weather made traveling impossible.Billy appeared on FaceTime by calling Dwight's phone, which was then brought to the stage at The Roxy Theatre in West Hollywood. Several other stars, including Charley Crockett, Markus King, and Lukas Nelson, joined Yoakam at the benefit event.Yoakam organized the benefit event and concert after he and his wife spent time at CHLA several years ago when their son was hospitalized. In a statement, Yoakam said,"When you walk the halls of a children's hospital, it changes you. It puts all of life in a very graphic perspective. As Emily and I were there with our child, we saw so many families facing battles no one hopes to ever have to endure."He went on to add,"And while we were fortunate to not face those challenges, that experience never left us. Rocking' for the Kids is our way of saying thank you to Dr. Krieger and the entire staff at Children's Hospital Los Angeles, on behalf of every family who puts their trust in them every single day."More about Billy Bob Thornton's current projectBilly Bob Thornton and Ariana Greenblatt have been shooting for a feature film, Somedays.
