According to E! News, popular singer and rapper Jay-Z has changed his name by adding an umlaut to the Y in his name.

The singer has added an umlaut above the letter Y in his name. Moving forward, his name will be spelled as JAŸ-Z. The rapper also revealed his personal reason behind changing his name.

The rapper decided to slightly alter his name due to the much-awaited impending reunion with The Roots. For the annual Roots Picnic in Philadelphia on May 30. The rapper's slight name change has been reflected on streaming services like Tidal, YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Music by adding the diacritical mark to his stage name.

An umlaut appeared on the covers of some of the rapper's earlier songs, such as his 1996 breakthrough album Reasonable Doubt and its hit singles Ain't No N---a, Can't Knock the Hustle, and Feelin' It.

The 25-time Grammy winner, who also goes by "Hova" or "Hov," has changed his name before. He removed the hyphen from his name in 2013; his publicist informed Complex at the time that the hyphen had not been used since 2010. Additionally, he used to stylize his name in all caps.

Since 2017's 4:44, the Empire State of Mind hitmaker hasn't put out a complete solo album. Together with his spouse, Beyoncé, he released the album Everything Is Love in 2018.

Since 2019, Jay-Z's firm, RocNation, has collaborated with the NFL to bring musical talents to the Super Bowl Halftime Show in addition to his music career.

Z and Beyonce have a 14-year-old daughter named Blue Ivy Carter and two 8-year-old twins named Rumi and Sir.
