According to a recent article by The Daily Mail, American rapper Killer Mike returned to the Grammy Awards this year after being detained for the last two years.Killer Mike was arrested in Los Angeles two years ago at the award function. This year, Mike returned to the Grammy Awards with his wife, Shana Rader.The rapper was handcuffed and taken into custody in relation to an alleged altercation with a security guard that raised suspicions of a misdemeanor offense; nevertheless, they were not charged in the event in February 2024."As you can imagine, there was a lot going and there was some confusion around which door my team and I should enter," said Killer Mike. "We experienced an overzealous security guard but my team and I have the utmost confidence that I will ultimately be cleared of all wrongdoing. Until that time, keep listening to Michael, and keep going after your dreams."The rapper was arrested after he won three Grammy awards in 2024. That year, Mike was nominated in four categories at the Grammys. After receiving his awards, Killer moved backstage towards the red carpet area.The Los Angeles attorney did not file any charges after Mike's arrest. Later, Killer Mike also sued the firm S&S Labor Force and claimed that he didn't do anything wrong. The firm has denied all allegations.Killer Mike sues S&S Labor ForceAfter his arrest at the 2024 Grammy Awards, Killer sued S&S Labor Force, claiming negligence, intentional infliction of emotional distress, assault, battery, and false arrest and detention.According to the lawsuit, which Rolling Stone cited, Killer Mike was restrained and ignored despite making "multiple attempts to clarify his identity and purpose for being in that secured area."“Defendants then surrounded plaintiff with multiple security guards and wrongfully detained plaintiff and confined his movements through physical force. Defendants used their position of authority to degrade, embarrass and physically hurt plaintiff in public view, subjecting him to emotional distress and public humiliation,” read the lawsuit.Mike is seeking a trial and wants compensation for the damages. Meanwhile, a spokesperson told The Guardian that the firm S&S Labor Force does employ security guards at the Grammy, but they have nothing to do with the incident.Killer Mike has also written a song about his arrest and his experience."I was sitting there in a room full of cops, like Daniel was sitting with the lions / I had to quiet my mind, I prayed and I prayed and I prayed / The liars were lying their lies, I kept on just keeping my faith," read the lyrics of the track.The name of the track is Humble Me, which was released in July and addressed his arrest.
