The Vegas Vacation actor Randy Quaid has recently drawn online attention after he slammed the Love & Other Drugs star Anne Hathaway's casting in the second installment of Tom Cruise's 1990 hit sports-drama Days of Thunder.

According to Mid-Day, while Randy Quaid, 75, criticized Hathaway's casting in the upcoming sequel to Days of Thunder, which is reportedly set to hit the big screen in 2028, the Kingpin actor mentioned that former cast member Nicole Kidman should have been recast instead of the Dark Knight Rises actress.

Married to Evi Quaid since 1989, the father of writer-turned-actress Amanda Quaid, Randy Quaid, who left Hollywood in 2010, or some would argue that he fled, had also made controversial comments about Anne Hathaway and her pregnancy. However, the Oscar-nominated veteran actor, Randy, left Hollywood for multiple reasons, one of which was the "Hollywood Star Whackers."

According to Today, the Freaked actor, Randy Quaid, and his wife Evi left Hollywood and fled to Canada as so-called Hollywood refugees after reportedly claiming that a secret, mafia-like group known as "Star Whackers" was trying to kill him and his wife.

As per reports, Randy also publicly stated that the "Hollywood Star Whackers" were to be held responsible and blamed for the unexpected deaths of Heath Ledger and David Carradine, who, as per reports, died due to prescription drug overdose and accidental asphyxiation, respectively.

According to reports, another reason Randy Quaid left LA, California, and fled to Canada was serious legal trouble. After destroying his relationship with major film production companies like Focus Features by suing them in 2006, Randy also damaged his reputation by misbehaving on a production set in 2007 and getting banned from institutions like Actors' Equity Association.

Some of the other reasons for Randy Quaid to leave Hollywood were that he was failing to pay legal fees and hotel bills. Not to mention, the Quick Change actor was also charged with burglary and squatting because he was living illegally in an establishment he once owned, after which arrest warrants were issued for him, which became another reason for Randy Quaid to leave Hollywood.

However, amid his recent comments regarding Anne Hathaway's casting in the upcoming sequel to Days of Thunder, Randy took to his X (formerly Twitter) handle on August 30, 2026, and responded to a post shared by Tom Cruise and wrote:

"We need Nicole [Kidman] back. Don’t be a p***y, Tom Cruise. You need the original girl. It’s not personal; it’s filmmaking. Anne isn’t sexy, because and if you haven’t noticed, she’s pregnant."

While Randy criticized Hathaway's casting in the sequel to Days of Thunder and commented on her being pregnant, the Midnight Express actor shared another post on X on August 30 and slammed Anne Hathaway by calling her "woke" and saying that she is not the right choice for Tom Cruise's upcoming movie. Randy wrote:

"Anne Hathaway is a leftist, woke, horrible choice for ‘DAYS OF THUNDER’ NASCAR audience who are MAGA. The sexy older chick for Tom in this film needs to be Nicole. That’s the casting that would sell the idea. It’s interesting because when we made the first one there was also a rush to get it out; editors slept in the cutting room on shifts. This is a weird thing, like they want it to come out and tank."
