Concern is growing among those close to Tiger Woods after his rollover crash and DUI arrest, with an insider saying that the professional golfer struggles to accept the limitations that come with his age and his physical setbacks.

On the heels of his arrest, an insider reportedly close to the professional golfer, as cited by People, voiced his concern over Woods' relationship with his girlfriend, Vanessa Trump, saying that it was "serious."

"They are an intense couple. It's serious, but Tiger has yet to look in the mirror and say, 'You're 50 years old and need to act like it.'"

Woods and Trump have been dating for over a year, which the pro golfer made public in March 2025 with a romantic post.

"Love is in the air and life is better with you by my side! We look forward to our journey through life together."

The source also told People that Tiger Woods is deep down a "good person," but is surrounded by people with ill intentions.

"He is enabled by people making money off of his talent and reputation, but with his injuries and age, he is frustrated and depressed about his state of health. He wants to play in major tournaments like the Masters, but he needs to get real. Once he does that, he should be better off because people do like Tiger. He is a good person."

And if he, indeed, enters the Masters Tournament, the insider claimed that his girlfriend, Vanessa Trump, would give him her all-out support.

Tiger Woods' arrest and release: recap

Recalling, Tiger Woods was charged with DUI after a rollover crash in Jupiter Island on Mar. 27.

According to Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek, the incident took place before 2 p.m. on South Beach Road, adding that the golfer was driving over the speed limit and caused property damage as his Land Rover crashed into the rear of a truck before it flipped.

Budensiek continued, saying that Tiger Woods will not receive preferential treatment, and he will:

"not be placed in general population where he could be harmed, but he will still face the legal consequences. We know we arrested a high-profile figure, but the law applies the same to everyone."

The star athlete's mug shot was released following his DUI arrest. His incarceration reached the headlines over the weekend, which, according to the People's insider, is something he despises.

"He despises public scrutiny. He is not a social butterfly and prefers to hang around his home with his kids, or hitting balls, or playing video games."

Meanwhile, Woods was detained at Martin County Jail in Stuart, Florida, but was released hours later on bond after being held for approximately eight hours.
