Nolan Wells' mother files subpoenas against social media companies to access his accounts

The shocking death of Nolan Wells, just a few days after his disappearance, gained immense public attention. After leaving his home for a trip to an island that is 10 miles off the coast of Mississippi on the night of July 3, the 18-year-old did not return home, unlike his friends.

Wells and his group of friends visited the island on a boat, and the boat reportedly left Mississippi on July 4 at 9:56 am from the island and arrived on the island at 11:14 am. However, after the boat returned to the mainland at 5:44 pm, Wells was nowhere to be found.

However, days after Wells went missing, his body was reportedly recovered on July 6. Questions regarding Noah Wells’ death arose, and his mother, Christine Wells-Wonsley, has now moved to court, filing subpoenas against social media companies.

Through the court documents, which were obtained by TMZ, it is reported that Nolan Wells’ mother has now filed subpoenas against social media companies. It is revealed that she is seeking to find details related to the case through Wells’ social media profiles. Wells' mother, Christine Wells-Wonsley, reportedly filed subpoenas to get the details of usernames and email addresses and IP addresses, along with many other details related to the metadata of these accounts.

The subpoena will require the social media companies to give these details, which could help bring transparency to the 18-year-old’s tragic death. Platforms such as Snapchat, TikTok, Meta Platforms, etc. have received these subpoenas. The Federal Bureau of Investigation is reportedly assisting the investigation of the case, which is headed by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department.

In a previous press conference, attorney Ben Crump revealed the details of how Wells’ body was found. Initially, an autopsy was done; however, another independent autopsy was also done by Roger A. Mitchell Jr., who stated that “based on the examination” of the body, “foul play” could not be ruled out. An extensive autopsy was done to “rule out things,” according to Crump.

He noted that there were no “fractures” in the body. “Deep tissue injuries” were also not found during the press conference. Right after Nolan Wells was found dead, his parents raised many questions regarding the cause of the death. An intriguing aspect of Nolan Wells’ case is related to his cell phone, which was reportedly not found by the police.

Nolan Wells’ mother, Christine Wonsley, found her son’s phone after she tracked it using Life360. The phone was reportedly found at one of the “boys’” houses, who also happen to own the boat. A mismatch of the data found in the phone further raised questions related to his death. Christine Wonsley also revealed that her son did not like “physical fights” and “arguments” and urged that her son was a “peacemaker”.

After Wells’ disappearance, the deputies questioned his friends. It is reported that his friends revealed that before they left, Wells’ was “in the company of an unknown female” and that Wells also chose to “remain on the island”. However, the description that his friends gave did not match how Wells was as a person, according to Jayvon Williams.

Jayvon Williams is another friend of Wells who revealed to CNN that he has “never known Nolan to stay back while his friends leave”. Nolan Wells’ family also supported these words. Speculations regarding what happened on the boat have arisen after the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources released a recording from the boat on July 4.
