On October 8, 2026, the Trump administration announced during the White House's summit, Science: A New Golden Age, that they would broaden the Genesis Mission to 14 more federal agencies. According to Politico, Huang responded,

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) launched the Genesis Mission last year in November through an executive order signed by Trump. The program was created to use artificial intelligence to strengthen scientific research.
The expansion of the Genesis Mission includes $1 billion in computing power from NVIDIA over 5 years and $200 million from OpenAI in token discounts and training programs for scientists. Apart from these two, the program also includes $150 million over 3 years to access Anthropic's Claude and $50 million in cloud credits from Amazon Web Services.

In a separate move, the Defense Department stated on Thursday that it would collaborate with the Genesis Mission fellowship to connect scholars with the Department of Energy.
