The speculation of Inde Navarrette joining Marvel came after the actress revealed meeting Thunderbolts* director Jake Schreier during an interview with Nylon. While Navarrette didn't reveal much information about what the interview was about at that time, during her recent interview with Variety, when asked about the meeting, the actress said that she has been taking a number of meetings after Obsession's release and enjoyed the chance to meet different people and ask questions.

She added that she loved what Jake Schreier brought to Thunderbolts* and appreciated the character-driven approach, revealing that she couldn't stop talking about how much she appreciated what Jake Schreier brought to Marvel.

The actress also made it clear that not every meeting leads into a new opportunity, explaining that sometimes their meetings are about appreciating their work, and she just wanted to tell him how much she appreciated what he brought to Thunderbolts*.

Inde Navarrette didn't reveal whether her meeting with Jake Schreier involved any discussion about the X-Men reboot or a potential role in the movie. However, during her previous interview, she showed interest in working with Marvel if given the opportunity.

MCU was reportedly expected to reveal the X-Men reboot cast at SDCC last weekend. However, no casting details were announced at the event. From Spider-Man: Brand New Day, it is confirmed that Sadie Sink is the new Jean Grey. According to Deadline's sources, Samara Weaving is reportedly being considered for the role of Emma Frost. However, Inde Navarrette's name has not been confirmed for the upcoming X-Men movie as of now.

Alongside speculation about Inde Navarrette joining the X-Men, the actress is also part of Oscar conversations after her recent movie, Obsession, became a hit. In Obsession, Navarrette plays Nikki, a girl who sees Bear as nothing more than a friend. However, after Bear develops feelings for her, he uses a wish from the One Wish Willow to make Nikki fall in love with him more than anything in the world.

The wish comes with repercussions as Nikki gets extremely obsessed with Bear, killing her friends, and almost gets taken over by another identity before coming back to her real self after Bear dies. Made on a budget of $750k, the movie earned $460 million.

Since then, many have speculated that Inde could become the next Oscar contender. Talking about the same, the actress told Variety that she feels honored to be part of the conversation, and she keeps in mind that even if it does not happen, it does not take away from the work she has done. She added that being part of the discussion this early in her career already means a lot, and if critics want to include her in the process, she will take it as it comes.
