Jack White has denounced Trump's plan to put his signature on U.S. dollars. For those unaware, the US Treasury Department announced on March 26, 2026, that it intends to include Trump's signature in all US dollar paper currency.

As per the department, the move is meant to honor the country's two hundred and fiftieth birth anniversary. If carried through, it would be the first time a sitting president had his signature on the currency.

In response to this, Jack White, as mentioned above, issued a denouncement. The singer made his denouncement on his official Instagram page, starting with a section on how there is no accountability for Trump:

"Oh how humble! But why stop there donnie? Why don't you use your small hands to sign into law that your oh so stern orange face appears on the front of the hundred dollar bill as well? You might as well, since Congress and the American people (and to an extent, the rest of the world) are all just letting you do whatever you want to anyways, so go ahead!"

Jack White then criticised the election of Trump into the office of the President of the United States and pointed out the incumbent President's lack of governmental office experience (aside from his first term in the presidency):

"Invade Cuba next? Sure! Go ahead, nobody's stopping you. America gave the most powerful seat in the world to a manipulative, loophole finding, egomaniacal, conman. But why did America do it you ask? Why is he so great?....because...he's just so great!...Was he ever a mayor, or senator, or dog catcher even? Nope, but....he's so great!"

Jack White then went on to talk about the currently ongoing TSA agent crisis, where, due to an ongoing partial government shutdown, TSA agents have reportedly been forced to sell their blood plasma to make ends meet, as well as being forced to sleep in cars, as per Fox News. He also pointed out the ongoing rise in oil prices due to the Iran conflict:

"TSA agents are selling plasma to pay rent while he takes the day off, cheats at golf, and bombs other countries for fun. Gas prices are surging as a world wide crisis that HE caused rages in the Middle East; it's the perfect time to joke on fox "news", visit Graceland, and sign into law to have your bloated, cocky signature on all U.S. currency!"

The price of oil is $110 per barrel, as per an NPR article published on March 27, 2026. The rise in oil prices has already contributed to a decline in Trump's approval ratings by 4%, with only 36% of Americans approving of Trump's job performance, as per Reuters.

In his criticism of Trump's plan to sign all US paper currency, Jack White also questioned whether or not Congress was actually regulating Trump's business ventures:

"Congrats donnie! You deserve it! p.s.: my trump bible, tennis shoes, commemorative coins, and gold phone have all still not arrived in my mail box yet, any word on when I will receive those items? (I'm sure Congress is regulating all that though and not just letting him break the law and profit from his office. We're in good hands.)"

Jack White has been outspoken in his criticism of the Trump administration in the past. In 2025, White criticised Trump's redesign of the Oval Office. Then he criticised Trump's remarks after Rob Reiner's death. More recently, he criticised Trump's military campaign against the Iranian regime.
