Paramount and Warner Bros. have officially joined hands and become Skydance Corp. It cannot be denied that there have been several complications in the path of this merger. David Ellison has now become the CEO and chairman of Skydance Corp.

This new path that the merger has forged will also bring forth the joining of several blockbuster franchises. Here are the details of some of the significant blockbuster franchises.

Skydance brings in 25+ blockbuster franchises after Paramount-Warner Bros. merger

The list includes several projects, as both Warner Bros. and Paramount already have a huge list of content. A significant franchise that will be under the joint forces of Paramount and Warner Bros. is the DC Universe, including projects such as Supergirl, David Corenswet’s Superman, etc. The Harry Potter franchise includes the eight movies, which already have a huge fandom, along with the TV show, which is set to arrive later this year.

Yet another significant franchise that will make its way to Skydance is The Dark Knight trilogy. Some of the other significant blockbuster additions to the merger include Dune, Godzilla/King Kong, Barbie, Lord of the Rings Trilogy, The Matrix, Looney Tunes, Sonic, Top Gun, Top Gun: Maverick, Transformers, Star Trek, Mission: Impossible movies, Tracker, Yellowstone, NCIS, Tulsa King, Landman, South Park, Star Trek: Picard, all fifteen seasons of SpongeBob SquarePants, Friends, Paw Patrol, RuPaul’s Drag Race, The Pitt, Game of Thrones, Big Bang Theory, Rick and Morty, The White Lotus, etc.

The merger also brings forth the joining of the TV networks such as Comedy Central, MTV, CNN, etc. There will also be a unification of the streaming services with this merger. These streaming services include Paramount+, Discovery+, HBO Max, and Pluto TV. The $111 billion deal just got finalized, and Ellison shared a statement noting the “historic” nature of this merger, which, according to him, is significant not just for “Skydance” but also for the “entire industry”.

While speaking about the merger, Ellison pointed out that the “ambition was to bring these two storied studios together” so that a “stronger competitor” can be created. This “stronger competitor” will have “talent, resources, and reach,” which will lead to the creation of “great stories in every genre, on every platform”. After immense complications, right from the initial announcement of this merger to this “historic day”, the “ambition” has become “a reality”.

While speaking about the future of the merger, Ellison has added that there will be a significant “focus” on forming a company that will empower “creatives”, entertain the viewers, and will also be able to reward the “shareholders”. Before the merger was finalized, there were several complications regarding the approvals, along with the bidding wars. The path reportedly began on June 9, 2025, after Warner Bros. Discovery unveiled its plan to split.

Competition began for the bidding war in September 2025, with Paramount, Comcast, and Netflix providing their bids in November 2025. Initially, Netflix got closer to getting a deal. However, after Paramount Skydance delivered a hostile bid, things took a turn in December 2025, according to reports. After the regulatory approval came into place, Paramount got closer to the merger, with the eventual success arriving in September this year.
