Avengers: Doomsday star Sir Patrick Stewart has no plans to retire. Speaking to TV Insider, the eight-five-year-old legend said that he will always be an actor.
Stewart, who has been in the industry for over six decades now, is famous for playing Professor Charles Xavier/Professor X in the X-Men projects and Captain Picard in Star Trek. He started his acting career with the Bristol Old Vic Company in 1959, and almost seven years later, he joined the Royal Shakespeare Company.
In 1987, he played the role of Captain Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek: The Next Generation, for which he was widely recognized. And since then, he has returned as Picard in many other Star Trek projects.
His most recent projects include The Sheep Detectives, American Dad!, and Bait. Additionally, he has two upcoming projects, which include Avengers: Doomsday and Barbaric. As questions about retirement continue, the actor has now revealed his future plans.

Avengers: Doomsday star Patrick Stewart says he can't imagine retiring

During his interview with TV Insider, Sir Patrick Stewart was asked if he was retired or just being more selective about his work. Answering the question, Stewart said that as actors get older, they get fewer acting opportunities, and he is still being considered for big roles. The actor added that he likes doing different kinds of projects, including voicing a pig's head in Bait.
Concluding his answer, he said that he cannot think of "officially retiring" and wants to forever be an actor. From Stewart's answer, it is clear that the actor isn't retiring anytime soon, and acting is something he wants to keep doing for the rest of his life.
In Avengers: Doomsday, he will be taking on the role of Professor Charles Xavier/Professor X. The other cast includes Anthony Mackie, Chris Hemsworth, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Florence Pugh, Robert Downey Jr., Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Sebastian Stan, Simu Liu, Rebecca Romijn, Lewis Pullman, Tom Hiddleston, and Winston Duke.
It is being directed by Anthony Russo and Joe Russo, famous for Everything Everywhere All At Once, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Avengers: Endgame, and Avengers: Infinity War.
When is Avengers: Doomsday releasing?

Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to release on December 18, 2026, leaving fans with almost five months of waiting. In the meantime, Marvel has given the fans a sneak peek with the official one-minute, four-second teaser, uploaded on YouTube. Released earlier this year in January, the teaser has already gained over 18 million views.
The Marvel film will bring back many familiar Marvel faces, including Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom and Chris Evans as Steven Rogers. Back in 2022, fans first knew the film as Avengers: The Kang Dynasty before Marvel changed its title.
After the release of Avengers: Doomsday in December this year, Marvel is also scheduled to release Avengers: Secret Wars next year in December, directed by Joe Russo and Anthony Russo with Robert Downey Jr. in the cast.
Speaking about the film to CBR, director Joe Russo said his upcoming Marvel film is the most emotional and mature Avengers film so far, adding that it will also include many surprises. Robert Downey Jr. added that the team spent a long time working on the film to make sure it feels different and gives fans something new to enjoy.
