UAP researcher and professor of Harvard University, Avi Loeb, reportedly addressed gathering definitive data after the Pentagon released a new UFO file. According to News Nation, Loeb explained that two different types of objects had been detected by the Pentagon and the intelligence community while operating near important strategic assets. The professor said,
"My hope is to partner with the Pentagon and put better sensors at the locations where these objects are found."
According to Loeb, it's important to identify these objects because a practical assessment would suggest they could belong to a rival nation because they were not being operated by the U.S. government. He also pointed to the 2023 incident in which America shot down a Chinese spy balloon.

Avi Loeb explained how conclusive UFO data could be gathered
Sources revealed that the U.S. Department of War had released the seventh batch of UFO files on October 23, 2026. The released files included reports describing a mysterious black triangular object that three federal agents reportedly observed near a highly secure U.S. facility.
As per the reports, the object traveled at an unusually high speed, and therefore, thermal equipment failed to detect any heat signature from it. The documents also contained a declassified report on alleged paranormal incidents at Utah's Skinwalker Ranch and files explaining how NASA and the Defense Department coordinated their response to suspected fragments believed to have come from spacecraft.
Loeb said,
"There are two types of objects that are being spotted by the Pentagon, the intelligence community, and they are hovering over strategic assets."
The professor added,
"We need to know what they are, because if you have a down to earth approach, you would say they are coming from adversarial nations because it's not our government that is flying them."
Loeb further explained that the available information was insufficient for reaching reliable conclusions. He said he hoped to work closely with the Pentagon and put better sensors at the locations where these objects had been detected so that more accurate data could be collected.
Two years ago, the website Space revealed that the Pentagon had developed 'Gremlin' sensors to help identify anomalies in orbit and collect data in real time. Daily Beast reported that Loeb and his startup, the Galileo Project, started to develop a UFO-spotting spycam. The purpose of that cam would be to scan, look, and listen to the activities surrounding the flying object.
Loeb compared the UFO spotting incident with finding an ant in the kitchen

The UFO researcher compared the process of spotting a flying triangle with finding an ant in the kitchen. In his view, spotting a single ant usually indicated that many more are hidden nearby, such as under the sink.
For the same reason, he argued that authorities have to determine the nature and origin of these UFOs. However, he added that reaching a clear conclusion was unlikely with the limited information currently available to researchers working on the issue.
