A protester interrupted Vice President JD Vance at a Republican midterm campaign rally, demanding the release of Epstein files.
The incident took place in Hendersonville, North Carolina, on October 19, 2026, when a man stood in the middle of Vance’s speech and started shouting:
“Release the Epstein files. God, bless our children.”

Security quickly escorted the man out while the crowd booed and chanted “USA.” Vance turned to look, then quipped that he needed to amend an earlier claim of zero illegal border crossings. He implied that the man was someone who had illegally crossed the border, while the protester identified himself as an "American citizen."
Vance stated that the people pushed by Democrats are “props.” He has strongly opposed illegal immigration and supported strict enforcement measures. He has argued that undocumented immigrants strain public resources, drive up housing and healthcare costs, and compete with American workers for jobs.

‘Release Epstein files,’ protester interrupts JD Vance rally
A protester interrupted Vice President JD Vance at a Republican campaign rally in Hendersonville, North Carolina, by shouting slogans like “Release the Epstein files” and “God bless our children.”
Vance, who implied the man was an illegal immigrant, responded by joking about his earlier claim of zero illegal border crossings and said:
“Ladies and gentlemen, I'm going to have to amend something I said earlier: I said that we have had zero illegal border crossings in the United States of America. But one isn't bad, right?”
The crowd laughed and cheered JD Vance, who then tied the disruption to democratic candidates and said that these protesters “stand for the idea that your government exists for fraudsters or criminals or illegal aliens.”
Demands to release the Epstein files are not specifically tied to the illegal immigration issue but to a broader topic. People are demanding their release to secure justice for trafficking survivors, expose powerful enablers, and eliminate government secrecy.

Vance is campaigning primarily to boost Republican candidates ahead of the 2026 U.S. midterm elections and to help secure conservative majorities. He is rallying and raising support for candidates across various states such as North Carolina, Kansas, Ohio and Florida.
Michael Whatley, Jennifer Balkcom, and Laurie Buckhout are among the candidates for whom JD Vance has campaigned in the 2026 midterm elections. During the recent event at Hyder Warehouse in Hendersonville in North Carolina, JD Vance urged voters to support his candidates, stating that they would fight for the North Carolinians.
According to a report in ABC13 Houston, Vance said:
“You want warriors like Michael and Jennifer, who are going to take nobody’s orders and whose only loyalty is to the people of North Carolina.”
He added:
“The reason why we're fighting for them is because they are the rare breed that fights for the people of North Carolina first and is going to shake up that establishment and fight for you for a change.”
As the second-highest Republican official, JD Vance is a top surrogate alongside President Trump. Vance has been executing an intensive, nationwide campaign blitz ahead of the November 2026 midterm elections.
Before his October 19, 2026 rally, Vance targeted high-stakes toss-up races in his home state of Ohio. Following an October 9 event in Lima, he is scheduled for a midterm rally at the Sharonville Convention Center in Cincinnati on October 21. Vance rallied for U.S. House candidates in Harlingen and Tyler, Texas, before transitioning to a Lakeland, Florida, event.
