Taylor Swift's song I Knew It, I Knew You recently became the most streamed country song in a day by a female singer. The song, which is set to be featured in the upcoming Toy Story 5 film, also shattered records on Apple Music and Amazon Music respectively.

I Knew It, I Knew You's record of being the most streamed country song in a day by a female singer has since generated reactions from fans of the singer, who took to social media to express their feelings on the matter:

"Taylor Swift keeps rewriting the record books. A soundtrack song breaking Apple Music history is wild."
"Funny how Taylor keeps breaking country records while half the country fanbase still argues she isn't country anymore." one netizen reacted.
"That’s a huge streaming milestone for Taylor Swift—and it also shows how strongly her country-era material still connects with listeners years later. Even her older catalog keeps breaking records like it never left the charts." another netizen reacted.
"Breaking country records for a song written about a fictional plastic cowgirl from Toy Story 5 is Peak Taylor Swift behavior. Woody and Buzz are absolutely blasting this in the toy box." one commenter said.
"Taylor Swift keeps rewriting the record books another historic streaming milestone for country music." another commenter reacted.
"Taylor Swift is officially a bigger country legend than Dolly Parton ever was. This record settles the debate permanently." one reactor opined.

On Apple Music, the song became the biggest country single of 2026, breaking the platform's record of largest first-day performance by a soundtrack single. On Amazon Music became the biggest 24 hour streaming debut for any song that was released in 2026.

Swift was inspired by the character of Jessie from the film series, and the song was produced by Jack Antonoff. Speaking about the song, Taylor Swift stated in an X post:

"Writing this song felt like a musical departure and coming home at the same time. Creating something for Jessie was a new challenge and also felt like second nature all at once. And being a @toystory kid from the age of 5 til now… is an adventure I plan to be on, to infinity and beyond."

She went on to thank Andrew Stanton, Randy Newman, and talked about writing the song with Jack Antonoff with adoration for the characters of the film.

Taylor Swift requested an early screening of Toy Story 5

Swift requested an early screening of Toy Story 5 in February. This was revealed by effects supervisor Thomas Jordan's statement on the matter at the SXSW London panel, as per CNET. It was after watching this early screening that the singer was inspired to write the song, I Knew It, I Knew You.

The song is now available for pre-order as a single from Swift's official website, as well as being available for streaming from Spotify, Amazon Music, Apple Music, YouTube Music and so on.

Toy Story 5 is the first new mainline film in the series since 2019's Toy Story 4. Toy Story 5 is also preceded by the 2022 spin off film Lightyear (film). Toy Story 5 is being directed by Andrew Stanton, and will feature voice acting from the likes of Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Joan Cusack, Greta Lee as well as Shelby Rabara, Anne Hampton Potts and so on.
