The development of a fashion brand is always difficult for young designers like Diddy's twin daughters, but carrying the business forward with one of the entertainment world's most famous last names during a heavy controversy era is a next-level challenge. Despite these challenges, the youngsters are moving ahead with the launch of their new unisex streetwear fashion brand 12TWINTY1.

The 19-year-old sisters have recently launched their 777 collection in the middle of their father's legal issues and a prison sentence. In 2025, the twins had already revealed that they would not attend college but focus fully on building their business in the fashion and entertainment industry.

D'Lila Combs and Jessie clarified that the project was carefully developed over several years of their research in fashion.

Jessie shares her fashion business development story with Combs

Page Six confirmed the duration of the sisters' fashion business planning. Jessie told the channel,

"We've been planning this for about three years now. Ever since we were little, we've loved fashion."

Three years matters to them because their idea of starting a fashion business came before their father's court cases. The dedication to the business changed the perspectives of people about their father.

The sisters further explained that after finishing high school last year, they kept building the brand step by step and worked toward their first collection instead of giving up on their dreams during the crisis.

According to them, starting a new company with the Combs name gives them clear visibility. They also have to face constant public talk about their father, due to which the business development process is becoming a challenge day by day.

Combs separates between Diddy's legal issues and fashion business

D'Lila Combs stressed that they do not want their career goals to face any legal troubles connected to their father. Combs said,

"His press is his press and our press is our press."

She clearly drew a line between them and their father in terms of business. Combs further mentioned that their journey is separate and they are trying to stay positive and focus on the venture's future.

The twins further stressed that their company stays focused on long-term goals instead of short-term events.
