The eponymous host of The Sean Hannity Show is asking veteran comedian, actress, and TV host Rosie O’Donnell to “stay in Ireland” amid her recent guest-hosting stint on Jimmy Kimmel Live! as Kimmel is on a two-month vacation break.

“Why is it that all these Hollywood actresses and liberals promise to leave and then they can’t stay away? Stay in Ireland, drink all you want, have a great time,” Hannity, 64, stated in Wednesday’s episode.

The Fox News presenter was hinting at O’Donnell’s comments on the debut episode (August 17) of Jimmy Kimmel Live! where she mocked Donald Trump and said he was the reason she had been living in Ireland since he returned to the Oval Office for his second term in 2025.

“I’ve been living in Ireland for the past two years because of mango-Mussolini. I read that Project 2025 and said, ‘Gotta get myself out of here,’ and I decided to go to Ireland, a place where people are driven to drink regardless of who’s running their country.”

Rosie, also 64, is a longtime, vocal Trump critic, continued by staring into the camera and directly addressing Trump:

“Hi… I know you are watching.”

The former View anchor also joked at the start of the late-night talk show:

“It's great to be back. They said you can't come home, but here I am! If you thought the President hated Jimmy Kimmel Live! when it was hosted by Jimmy Kimmel? Buckle up, people! Buckle up.”

Sean Hannity is not the only conservative journalist to take shots at Rosie O’Donnell. His colleague, Tomi Lahren, also weighed in:

“She supposedly left because Trump was elected and last time I checked he’s still here. So, why’s she here? You’d think she would ride it out until a Democrat is back in the White House. But no, she couldn’t stay away; she has to come back because this is the greatest nation regardless of who’s president.”

Everything to know about Rosie O’Donnell’s move to Ireland

Donald Trump and Rosie O’Donnell have been feuding since 2006, which has become worse ever since he became the POTUS. For instance, in 2017, she told W Magazine that she had doubts whether she’d be able to “live through” Trump’s first term as the President.

“It has taken me a full year to integrate the reality of him being a president in a way that I don’t come across as either so full of rage that no one can hear my words, or so sad that I can’t articulate the level of pain. It’s taken a year for me to get my equilibrium back, to come back up to the surface,” she said at the time.

The Rosie O’Donnell Show host continued:

“I seriously worry whether I personally will be able to live through and whether the nation will be able to live through it and survive. It’s a terrifying concept, on the brink of nuclear war with a madman in charge.”

O’Donnell even joined a protest outside White House in August 2018.

When Trump returned for his second term in January 2025, his longtime rival said on TikTok that she moved to Ireland with her non-binary child Clay and would only return when,

“It is safe for all citizens to have equal rights there in America.”

Meanwhile, Trump threatened to revoke her U.S. citizenship and wrote on Truth Social in July 2025 how he was giving it “serious consideration” as she is a “Threat to Humanity.” He also said that she should “remain in the wonderful Country of Ireland.”

Last year, when a reporter asked the Irish Prime Minister Michael Martin during his visit to the White House for Saint Patrick’s Day about why Rosie O’Donnell was allowed to live in his country, Trump weighed in and said that he “liked” the question, even before Martin could shrug it off. That’s when the POTUS added that his Irish equivalent was “better off” not knowing who O’Donnell is.

In response, Rosie O’Donnell took to Instagram and wrote:

“You want to revoke my citizenship? Go ahead and try, King Joffrey with a tangerine spray tan. I’m not yours to silence. I never was.”

Rosie O’Donnell has continued to ridicule Trump throughout her weeklong gig on Jimmy Kimmel's show. On Wednesday night, she called the POTUS, “President Oompa J. Loompa” and indirectly addressed the controversy surrounding Donald’s 35-year-old executive assistant Natalie Harp.

“A special hello to those of you watching from home and from the White House. That’s all I’m going to say about you tonight, sweetheart. You got to realize it’s time to hang up your wig and let Natalie tuck you in. Time to go nighty-night!” the comedian quipped.

On Thursday night, Rosie continued taking aim at Donald and said:

“It’s kind of weird to think he spent more nights with me this week than Melania… I want to thank everyone who’s been watching this week, especially the hungry, hungry hypocrite in the White House… Most of all, I’d like to thank Jimmy Kimmel for inviting me to do this and for reminding everyone that we have the right to free speech in this country, whether Orange Voldemort likes it or not.”

She also performed to the Irish tune of Danny Boy and dedicated it to a “very special boy.” Rosie O’Donnell continued to joke:

“Poor Donny boy, your polls, your polls are falling. Your reflecting pool is green as Mountain Dew. Your wig’s a mess, your ballroom is appalling, and with Iran you’ve bit off more than you can chew. Measles are back, inflation is a-swelling; you post all night, you’re sleeping while you work. And what’s with all this useless crap you’re selling?”

Calling Trump a “sweetie pie,” Rosie O’Donnell said he’s “driving us all berserk” and asked him to “resign” and “end this drama,” and hand thing over to someone with a “stabl-genius brain” like Obama who can “make this country great again.”

Earlier this year, Jimmy Kimmel said Rosie O’Donnell would temporarily replace him when he’d be away for his summer break, adding it would be a “special treat” for Trump.

Meanwhile, in June, Sean Hannity raised concerns about his health when he appeared on-air with a swollen face and appeared to have difficulty speaking. After much speculation, he clarified he had a bad sinus infection, which led to laryngitis. However, he refused to take a "crappy medicine" and had to "ride it out" until it was cured naturally.

Trump has yet to respond to O’Donnell.
