Nancy Guthrie, mother of Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie, has been missing since February 1, 2026. Upon investigation, she was confirmed to have been abducted. It has been six months since Nancy was taken from her home in the middle of the night, and no suspects have been identified or arrested so far. In June 2026, it was revealed that a ransom note sent to the Guthrie family claimed that Nancy had passed within a few days of being taken. The legitimacy of that note is yet to be confirmed due to lack of evidence suggesting that it's actually from the kidnapers. A new statement from the sheriff hints there is additional video evidence that is yet to be reviewed.Why the Nancy Guthrie case might have additional video evidence?After Nancy Guthrie was reported missing, the Pima County Sheriff's Department, along with the FBI and CBP, launched an aggressive investigation to find her. Nancy's pacemaker was connected to her phone via Bluetooth, and her phone's data showed that the pacemaker was disconnected from the Bluetooth connection at approximately 2:30 am on February 1, 2026. Footage from Nancy Guthrie's doorbell camera was acquired and reviewed. It revealed that a masked suspect had entered the house and tampered with the camera before anything else could be recorded. The authorities have also reviewed security camera footage from the surrounding neighborhoods, but nothing concrete has been revealed so far. Now, as Fox Digital's Mike Ruiz reports, Sheriff Chris Nanos of the Pima County Sheriff's Department has revealed that there is additional video evidence that they are yet to review. These videos are from neighboring areas where the suspect(s) might have passed by. The department is still categorizing the evidence to make sure they have everything in place. Reportedly, the department was initially canvassing a rather small area, but after new footage from multiple angles came in from someone in the next neighborhood, they have increased their area of canvassing. Now, there is more footage they are still reviewing from neighborhoods in the region. Sheriff Nanos has also revealed that he and the department believe that the suspect's vehicle is somewhere in the video evidence; they just haven't been able to identify which one it is yet. Nancy Guthrie's pacemaker disconnected from her phone at around 2:30 am. Thus, it can be assumed that it was that time that she was too far away from her phone for it to be connected to her pacemaker. Sheriff Nanos thus believes that somewhere in all the video footage they have is the suspect's vehicle or any clue about them. Since there's so little information available about the suspect(s), it is yet to be determined who in the video footage might be the perpetrator. However, based on what Sheriff Nanos said, it seems that he's confident that the department is getting close to finding something concrete. It is yet to be known if Nancy Guthrie really passed away a few days after her abduction or if it's the kidnapper's way of torturing the family.
