Shia LaBeouf recounts alleged incidents involving Sigourney Weaver and the Charlie's Angels cast
While speaking at the fan event, Shia LaBeouf claimed that his father had been removed from numerous film sets because of his behavior. Recalling one particular incident, he alleged that Jeffrey LaBeouf made unwanted advances toward Sigourney Weaver while Shia was filming Holes in 2003.
According to Shia, the actress responded by slapping his father after he allegedly hit on her during production. Shia went on to describe what he claimed happened a short time later while he was working on Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle.
He said his father had recently been released from prison and was frequently present on set. According to Shia, Jeffrey repeatedly flirted with the film's three leading actresses: Lucy Liu, Drew Barrymore, and Cameron Diaz throughout the production. He said:
"My dad was hitting on all three of those women all the time. Lucy Liu couldn’t stand my dad. She couldn’t stand him. But he wasn’t going nowhere, he’s my dad."
LaBeouf added that his father's behavior made Lucy Liu so uncomfortable that she chose to avoid walking near his trailer. The actor said:
"So we were just hanging out all the time, and Lucy Liu would always do these big circles around my trailer. [Liu] never wanted to be around ‘cause my dad was always whistling at her."
Shia LaBeouf said that his father would always whistle at Liu, after which she stopped being near his trailer during the filming process. Despite this, Shia said his father continued spending time on set because he was accompanying his son.
A look at Jeffrey LaBeouf's past and Shia's complicated relationship with him
Shia LaBeouf's relationship with his father has always been complicated. Although there have been incidents where LaBeouf didn't like his father's actions, he never really described his thoughts about him as simple hatred.
Instead, he has said their relationship was difficult, with both of them affecting each other in unhealthy ways at times. Jeffrey LaBeouf is a Vietnam War veteran who also worked as a rodeo clown, poet, and painter.
Over the years, he has struggled with heroin and alcohol addiction and faced several legal problems. It also includes a prison sentence in the early 1980s for assault with intent to commit rape, which he has said happened while he was intoxicated.
During the filming of Even Stevens, Jeffrey acted as Shia's on-set guardian despite his addiction issues. Shia's 2019 film Honey Boy portrayed his father as an abusive parent. But Shia later admitted that parts of the story were exaggerated for the film.
Since then, the two have worked toward repairing their relationship. Shia LaBeouf has been reportedly supporting his father's recovery and health and even attending Jeffrey's Catholic baptism in Rome in 2026.
