"Signal of bravado vanishes": Expert says Trisha Paytas' body language sees "a change of state" while discussing Ethan Klein drama

Actress, singer, and YouTuber Trisha Paytas has finally broken her silence on Ethan Klein's marriage fallout. She co-hosted the short-lived podcast Frenemies with him from 2020 to 2021. In addition to their professional relationship, Paytas is married to Moses Hacmon, Hila Klein's brother. Despite the couple having young children of the same age who are cousins, the Kleins and Hacmons had reportedly been out of touch for five years.

Following Paytas' latest video, The Mirror has published a report where body language expert Judi James analyzed Paytas' body language while discussing the controversy. James maintained that Paytas initially introduced the subject with confidence:

“Her knee is held up in a strong shielding gesture that she can hide behind, and although she introduces the subject with her eyes to camera that signal of bravado vanishes quickly and she looks down to hide her eye expression and shield her emotions in a cut-off ritual.”

But James noted that Trisha Paytas' body language eventually changed when she got into Ethan Klein's cheating scandal and her own fallout with the Kleins, hinting that the YouTuber was likely trying to protect herself while addressing a difficult situation:

“Trisha’s body language goes through a change of state as she gets onto this subject and as she discussed it that change becomes even more acute."

For the uninitiated, Hila Klein accused her husband Ethan Klein of having an extra-marital affair for six months. The couple, who have three children together, co-founded the popular h3h3Productions YouTube channel and the H3 Podcast.

Following the controversy, people anticipated a response from Trisha Paytas, given her professional and personal history with the Kleins. While the couple had been reportedly out of touch for five years, Paytas addressed the controversy on her podcast, clarifying that she and her husband, Moses Hacmon, have been completely "no-contact" with Ethan and Hila for five years, meaning they had no prior inside knowledge of the affair.

James studied Paytas' hand movements while discussing the Ethan Klein controversy. While the YouTuber maintained it was difficult for her to talk about this issue, James noted that 'the fingertips of her left hand' were pinched together, suggesting 'a desire to be precise in her points.' Additionally, James noted that Paytas used her body language and hand movements to protect herself and 'avoid attack,' which suggests vulnerability.

"The Ethan I thought I knew, or I liked or enjoyed spending time with during Frenemies is just completely gone. And I think it's really sad because I think a lot of people found him funny and entertaining and don't know what happened."

James noted how Paytas' body language turned from self-protective to emotional while discussing her history with Klein:

“She falters at one point and looks away, dabbing one eye with her fingers to suggest she is dabbing at a tear. Her micro-shrugs suggest she is trying to be confident and make light of or reject her responses. She starts to speed up her speech here, and her hand ends up tucked between her legs.”
