Spider-Man: Brand New Day's ending just teased Peter Parker's big Battleworld moment in Doomsday

Spider-Man: Brand New Day has many surprising moments, but thankfully Spider-Man's death isn't one of them. During the film's press tour, fans had speculated that Zendaya was wearing mostly black outfits because MJ or Spider-Man dies in the film. Thus, many had thought that if Spider-Man died in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, he wouldn't be seen in Avengers: Doomsday.

Moreover, since Tom Holland hasn't announced being a part of the official Avengers: Doomsday cast, many fans were wondering if there's a chance of him being in the film. However, the ending of Brand New Day suggests that Spider-Man might just be part of the team facing Doom.

Where is Spider-Man at the end of Spider-Man: Brand New Day?

Spider-Man: Brand New Day ends with Ned remembering Peter and their best friend hand shake. After saving Jean Grey, Peter realized just how loved he was as Spider-Man. No one remembered Peter, but everyone knew Spider-Man, and they showed up for him when he was fatally wounded and in the hospital.

Ned, however, does recognize him finally. One of the last moments of the film shows us Peter at the bodega where he finds out that Bill Metzger has fled. Soon, Ned walks in, and Peter decides to finally introduce himself to him. When he proceeds to shake hands with Ned, the latter instinctively remembers their best friend shake and does it without any mistake.

Peter is surprised, and so is Ned. The film ends with Ned saying Peter's name in recognition, suggesting that his memories of his best friend have returned. Spider-Man: Brand New Day, however, has one more twist up its sleeve. The post-credits scene of the film shows Spider-Man popping up on Ned's Spidey Tracker. He first appears in New York but then keeps moving away.

Finally, he glitches and is seen in outer space. We're not shown where exactly he is, but it is clear that Spider-Man is going to be somewhere outside Earth. This can tie him directly to his Avengers: Doomsday appearance.

So far, Spider-Man hasn't been confirmed to be appearing in Doomsday, but Spider-Man: Brand New Day's post-credits scene highly suggests that the superhero is going to play a role in the upcoming film. In the comics, Dr. Doom causes incursions that destroyed the multiverse. Using the scraps left of the realities, he made a new planet called Battleworld.

Some of the heroes survived the incursions, and Reed Richards was the one who defeated Doom and rebuilt the destroyed universes. Since we see Spider-Man on a different planet at the end of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, it might mean that Battleworld is a part of Avengers: Doomsday, and Peter ends up there somehow.

It might also mean that he is on the planet where the fight between Dr. Doom and the team consisting of the Avengers, New Avengers, Fantastic Four, and X-Men takes place. Another possibility is that Spider-Man ends up on a different planet during the events of Avengers: Secret Wars.

Either way, it is highly unlikely that the post-credit scene of Brand New Day will be explained in a fifth Spider-Man film. There are higher chances of it getting explained in Avengers: Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars and thus a high chance of Spider-Man appearing in either or both of these films.

Another character who might appear in Avengers: Doomsday is Jean Grey (played by Sadie Sink). Spider-Man: Brand New Day has introduced us to the MCU's newest X-Men, and we see her going to upstate New York at the end of the film. Upstate New York is where the X-Mansion is located, and Jean Grey could be heading there to meet Professor X and join the team ahead of Avengers: Doomsday.

Marvel is yet to confirm if Spider-Man or Jean Grey will appear in Avengers: Doomsday. Stay tuned for more updates.
