Disclosure Day, which was released on June 12, 2026, was quite a success in the box office and has now received its streaming release date. Directed by Steven Spielberg, the film follows the impending disclosure day as a whistleblower, Dr. Daniel Kellner, heads out to reveal the proof of extraterrestrial life that he has stolen from his employer.

But he's not the only protagonist of the film. Margaret Fairchild, a meteorologist, begins speaking in a language no one has heard and becomes the target of Daniel's employers. The film received both praise and box office success and will now premiere on Peacock in September 2026.

Disclosure Day is coming to Peacock

To viewers, Disclosure Day felt less like a science fiction story and more like a prediction of the future. Through the film, Steven Spielberg portrays a realistic story of extraterrestrial life connecting with that of Earth and observing us.

Viewers enjoyed the in-theater experience, which resulted in the film grossing over $241 million. Now, the film will be released on Peacock on September 9, 2026. People who weren't able to watch the film in theaters can watch it on Peacock if they are subscribed to the platform.

If one doesn't have a Peacock subscription, they can subscribe to Peacock Select/Peacock Premium/Peacock Premium Plus. Peacock Select costs $8.99 per month and $89.99 per year. Peacock Premium costs $12.99 per month and $129.99 per year. Peacock Premium Plus, which is the only ad-free plan, costs $19.99 per month and $199.99 per year. None of these prices are inclusive of tax.

Disclosure Day follows a whistleblower Daniel (played by Josh O'Connor), who is also a cybersecurity specialist, and intends to disclose evidence of extraterrestrial life to the public. He found the evidence at Wardex Corporation, an independent contractor of the U.S. government, where he works. However, his connection to whatever the government has been trying to hide is not new.

Daniel is somehow connected to Margaret Fairchild (played by Emily Blunt), a meteorologist, who begins to speak in a strange language she has never spoken in. While no one understands what she's saying, Wardex Corporation recognizes it as extraterrestrial language. Now, the corporation sets out to hunt down both Daniel and Margaret, as they might bring upon disclosure day.

As Daniel and Margaret team up to avoid getting caught, what they end up revealing to the world is not just shocking news but one that affects them personally.

Besides Blunt and O'Connor, the film also stars Colin Firth as Noah Scanlon, Eve Hewson as Jane Blankenship, Colman Domingo as Hugo Wakefield, Wyatt Russell as Jackson, Henry Lloyd-Hughes as Casper Boyd, Elizabeth Marvel as Sister Maura, Hettienne Park as Serena, and Tommy Martinez as Dave Santiago, among others.

The film is written by David Koepp, based on the story by Steven Spielberg. Kristie Macosko Krieger and Spielberg are the film's producers. The production companies behind the film are Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment.

Disclosure Day will be released on Peacock on September 9, 2026.
