Street Fighter’s new trailer teases a deadly tournament where Ryu and Ken must face their past

Right after the announcement of Street Fighter, viewers have been eagerly waiting for the intense storyline that dives into the complications that two fighters come across after getting recruited for a tournament.

With an array of talented cast members, the movie is set to bring forth a blend of intense action sequences along with emotional depth. The new trailer of Street Fighter perfectly captures the intensity of the storyline and raises the anticipation of the viewers even more.

After setting the anticipation with the first trailer of the movie, Street Fighter drops a new trailer, which explores the characters on a deeper level. From delivering the grim atmosphere of the storyline through the visuals to providing some of the snippets of the intense fight sequences among the characters, the new trailer is packed with several Ryu and Ken moments.

In the movie, Ryu and Ken, two estranged fighters, are brought back into the world of combat when they are both approached by Chun-Li. Chun-Li recruits them for a tournament, which eventually brings forth “a brutal clash of fists, fate, and fury”.The storyline of the movie will also shed light on the array of conspiracies that the two of them will face, eventually causing them to go against each other.

The past plays a vital role in this movie, which takes inspiration from the classic video game of the same name. Noah Centineo takes on the role of Ken Masters in the movie while Andrew Koji brings life to Ryu’s character. Jason Momoa’s character in this movie is also crucial, as he takes on the role of Blanka.

Besides Noah Centineo and Andrew Koji, some of the other cast members of the movie are Callina Liang, David Dastmalchian, Jason Momoa, Olivier Richters, 50 Cent, etc. Kitao Sakurai, with projects such as The Eric Andre Show, Butterfly, Dave, The Premise, etc., takes on the helm as the director of Street Fighter. The new trailer of the movie also captures the distinct dynamic between Ryu and Ken.

Both Noah Centineo and Andrew Koji do a remarkable job in depicting the depth of the storyline in the trailer. In a previous interview with Empire, Andrew Koji, while speaking about playing the game, notes that he used to “play as Ryu” because Ryu was similar to him. While bringing life to Ryu’s character in the movie, his “task” was to bring forth distinct “depth” along with “nuance”.

To depict the fighting style of Ryu in the movie, Koji also trained and studied “Shokotan karate” besides “judo, jujitsu, and kickboxing”. Noah Centineo also speaks about his training schedule during the interview with Empire. Centineo had to train with Andrew Koji and Callina Liang every day for “six weeks straight”. Noah Centineo’s dedication to this movie can be understood through his words.
