Played by David Corenswet, fans met the DCU version of the Man of Steel in last year's Superman. The movie saw Superman grapple with a shocking revelation regarding his parents, Jor-El and Lara Lor-Van. Joining him through this experience was the Kryptonian canine companion, Krypto.Kara Zor-El/SupergirlIntroduced as the Man of Steel's cousin in Superman, Kara is the opposite of the Big Blue Boy Scout. While Superman tries to be friendly, Kara has a bit of an edge to her, as she survived the destruction of Krypton only to see people around her die a slow, painful death. This origin is given in the graphic novel Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, which the movie is adapting. The plot of the graphic novel goes like this:"Kara Zor-El can no longer find any meaning or purpose in her life. But all that changes when an alien girl seeks her out to help her take revenge on the bad guys who destroyed her world. Now a Kryptonian, a dog, and an angry, heartbroken child head into space on a journey that will shake them to their very core. It's Supergirl like you've never seen her before in a character-defining sci-fi/fantasy masterpiece!"Krypto View this post on Instagram Instagram PostWhile you may feel that adding a dog to this list is hilarious, the canine creature was one of the highlights of Superman. Initially believed to be the Man of Steel's pet, the movie reveals that Krypto the Superdog is Kara's pet. We also see Krypto in a recently released promo for Supergirl. The upcoming movie will probably show how they met.Jor-El and Lara Lor-VanJor-El and Lara Lor-Van in Supergirl | Image Via: Warner Bros. EntertainmentSuperman's parents, Jor-El and Lara Lor-Van, were described as Superman's rock at the beginning of Superman. But the second act of the movie reveals that Jor-El intended Kal-El to take over Earth. Since that shocking revelation, fans have been theorizing whether that complete message was real or not. James Gunn addressed this issue on Joshua Horowitz's Happy Sad Confused podcast:"How can someone not think it's real? I don't understand. In the test screenings people said, 'With AI, no one trusts anything.' So, okay, in the movie Mister Terrific says, 'I know those computer forensics guys, there is no way.' That's Mister Terrific, he's as smart as Lex Luthor. Then I have Mori, the Secretary of Defense, say, 'Think whatever you think about Luthor, but it's real.' And then the clincher is that Ghurkos and Lex are walking together and Ghurkos say, 'Ahh you doctored the message. This is great.' And Lex says, 'It's not doctored. It's real, and who thought it would be his own parents to bring him down?'"Zor-El and Alura In-Ze View this post on Instagram Instagram PostThe upcoming movie, headlined by Kara Zor-El, will introduce fans to her parents, Alura In-Ze (mother) and Zor-El (father).
