Internet reacts to Jimmy Kimmel’s bearded selfie post at the 2026 Emmy Awards
Jimmy Kimmel and other late-night hosts including Stephen Colbert, John Oliver, and Jon Stewart struck a pose at the 2026 Emmy Awards that went viral.
As soon as the host and executive producer of Jimmy Kimmel Live! shared a bearded selfie with his fellow mates, it sparked a discussion on social media platforms like Threads, among others.
A user commented:
“I like how they obviously communicate as friends IRL, off camera. They must have planned this grooming style decision some weeks back.”
Another user said:
“Why are you all starting to look alike? Is that to just confuse Trump??”
A third chimed in:
“So jealous I can’t grow one in solitary! Handsome boys.”

However, not all of the users were glad to see the viral post.
Someone dubbed them:
“Worst night show hosts.”
A person remarked:
“You guys are such complete losers g** too hating your president.”
During an exclusive interview with E!, Colbert joked about his bearded look and told the outlet that it was computer-generated. He said:
“This is all A.I. This isn't actually on my face. This could transform at any moment into a robot or something.”
Colbert nicknamed his new look “beard-bot” and playfully added that he has to deal with Michael Bay and Gillette. Bay, who is a renowned filmmaker famous for directing the CGI-heavy Transformers franchise, implied that his beard could turn into an action-packed robot at any moment.
Colbert finished his run when The Late Show with Stephen Colbert aired its final episode in May 2026. He hosted the CBS late-night show for 11 years. He will be appearing as a guest on September 15 on Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night show.
Additionally, Oliver’s show Last Week Tonight with John Oliver is still on air and has reached its 13th season on HBO. He reportedly extended his contract with HBO by one year through the end of 2027, as per a Variety report.
Meanwhile, Jon Stewart is still on The Daily Show as the Monday night host and executive producer through December 2026. According to a report in The Los Angeles Times, Paramount announced that the comedian will be extending his run on the Comedy Central show through the end of this year.
