If The Devil's Mouth has taught us one thing, it's that you should never underestimate a dangerous situation or become overconfident in your decisions, especially when you don't know what lies ahead. The story revolves around five friends who decide to explore a cave for an adventure in Thailand, an adventure that turns out to be deadly for them.
While the local cave tour guide warns them, the friends decide to take the rougher path to explore the cave and become food for a bull shark, except for one lucky friend who survives.

The Devil's Mouth recap: Five friends on a new adventure
The story of The Devil's Mouth begins with five friends named Max, Sara, Greg, Adrienne, and James deciding to go to Thailand for a cave adventure. Sara and Max discuss their future plan, and later Sara goes for a swim. However, Max believes that Sara is in the bathroom and gives the captain a green signal to move away from where they are. Sara, on the other hand, is stung by a jellyfish. Thankfully, the friends realize this and come back to take her, only to find her with welts.
Their journey takes a strange turn after the friends, except for Sara, go skinny-dipping and later discover a half-eaten turtle. However, this doesn't stop them from discovering the cave. Sara, all prepared, takes the knife, meds, and camera with her.
When it comes to choosing the path, the tour guide, Wat, suggests they take the green path, which is much safer. But Max insists that they should take the red path since it sounds more adventurous. After a bit of convincing, all friends agree to the red path. Sara also takes a life jacket with her, and it is later shared among the friends.
The group finally reaches The Devil's Mouth and Skeleton Cave, which showcases real human bones. The guide tells the friends that the human bones belong to an entire village that once perished there, warning them to respect the cave, as they are merely guests.
The group had another diver who gets eaten by the bull shark, and Sara is the first one to find out. While nobody believes her at first, after seeing the dive mask that he was wearing floating on the water, the group realizes that they are not alone.
The Devil's Mouth ending explained: What happens to the friends?
The Devil's Mouth turns deadly from hereon, as none of the friends except Sara listen to the guide. They start panicking amongst themselves. Although Wat repeatedly warns them to leave the cave, the friends ignore him, putting themselves in even greater danger. In the end, Wat decides to save himself, but is later hunted by the shark, leading to his death.
Greg is the first from the group to die. The group then climbs onto a rock, and Sara comes up with a plan to end up in the ocean instead of returning through the same path they arrived from. However, Max doesn't agree with her, and Sara ends up giving the map to Max. However, Adrienne falls into the water while trying to take the map, and the shark attacks and kills her.
With only Max, Sara, and James left, Max suggests taking a narrow passage where the shark can't reach them, while Sara believes the ocean route nearby is the safer option. This leads to a heated argument between Max and James at a time when they should be focused on finding a way out.
In the end, Sara and James go with Max's plan, and after swimming and crawling, they find daylight, which gives them hope. Their relief is short-lived, as the rocks collapse, leaving Max dangling over the edge while Sara tries to pull her up with the shark waiting below.
The Devil's Mouth ending explained: Who makes it out alive in the end?
Once the shark moves away, Sara releases her grip on Max, and she and James jump in after her. Sara finally finds a tunnel with an air pocket, but James gets stuck between the rocks. The moment is emotional as Max and Sara are forced to leave James behind, knowing there is no way to save him. Just as they move forward, they find Wat's body and realize that they're back to where they started.
After spotting the exit, Max refuses to stop or listen to Sara, putting herself in danger once again. Thanks to Sara, Max is rescued but soon passes out. Sara then takes her towards the ocean exit, the route she had suggested from the beginning. However, with Max's broken hand, it was hard for her to climb.
Max asks Sara not to leave her alone, and with the help of a rope, Sara tries to pull Max up. Just then, the shark attacks Max, and since Sara is also tied to the rope, she gets pulled into the water as well. In the end, Sara is the only one left, but with the shark still inside the cave, escaping seems impossible. She reaches Skeleton Cave and hangs from a rock, splashing the water, and uses her blood as bait to lure the shark. As the shark comes towards her, Sara jumps from the rock. The shark slams into the rocks and gets crushed between them.
This brings the viewers to the end of The Devil's Mouth with only Sara making it out alive among her friends.
