The Simpsons Movie 2 will now release later than originally, details revealed

The release date of the upcoming The Simpsons Movie 2 has been pushed a little from its original date. The initial date of its release was July 23, 2027. The animated sequel will now be released on September 3, 2027.

Along with 20th Century Studios and Disney, the official account of the sitcom has revealed details about it on social media. With a poster of Homer, they have announced the release date change in a classic Simpsons fashion.

In the new release date announcement of The Simpsons Movie 2 on social media, it features a poster of a distressed Homer. He finds his foot being pierced with a flag. To make matters worse, his favorite donut also drops from his hand.

The flag reads: 'In Theatres 09.03.2027'. The funny part is, its earlier date is mentioned there too, but it is scratched with black scribble. So that makes it clear that there has been a date change. Since the film is releasing on the Labor Day weekend, so the caption reads as:

"An all-new movie from The Simpsons, now coming to theaters Labor D'OH Weekend, 2027!"

The first movie of the sitcom, The Simpsons Movie, came out on June 27, 2007. The film, upon its release, received both critical and commercial success. It currently stands with an impressive Rotten Tomatoes score of 87%.

The film explores the plot of how Homer, due to his carelessness, puts lives at risk. However, he takes matters into his own hands to fix his wrongdoings.

So, exactly after a span of two decades, its sequel will be released. So, the enthusiastic fans who have been looking for a Simpsons movie do have to wait a little more.
