John Cena has created a buzz on the internet after he announced his WWE return for WrestleMania 42 months after his retirement. The wrestler bid adieu to professional wrestling in December last year. However, the 17-time champion announced that he is now returning to the company.

On Monday, Cena took to social media and announced that he would be hosting WrestleMania this year in Las Vegas. In the video posted on X, John Cena, standing on a road, said:

"Ah, retired life in the sun. I'm kidding! Check out the backdrop! I'm shooting a movie for Netflix called 'One Attempt Remaining' that you can see when it comes out. I'm also on the road, which is ironic because there's a road to WrestleMania going on, and Hollywood is really close to Vegas. The rumor around this town is WrestleMania needs a host. Well, I'm already on that road, so I will see you at WrestleMania."

Soon after John Cena posted the video, a flurry of reactions came online.

"Tired but not retired."

John Cena's announcement sent a wave of excitement among wrestling fans. A user commented:

"Retired? Maybe. Legendary? Always. Las Vegas is about to witness greatness."

Another fan said that Cena's catchphrase applies to his retirement plan.

"Retirement road looking different, huh? From ‘never wrestling again’ to hosting WrestleMania in Vegas. Guess the ‘You Can’t See Me’ applies to your retirement plans too. See you there, champ."

Another user suggested that Cena was called in as the company was not able to pull a crowd.

"Despite reducing the prices and offering discounts they couldn’t sell out the Mania tickets so has to call back the GOAT once again. This statement still holds true & the you refers to entire WWE roster combined."

A netizen questioned the retirements of wrestlers and wrote:

"Do you guys really retire from wrestling coz you all keep making comebacks and apperances everytime just like Goldberg."

While many expressed their wish to see John Cena in the ring, a fan said that his hosting the event would be a bigger thing.

"People complaining already but forget one thing, Cena hosting means he controls the vibe of the entire show, That’s bigger than just one match Vegas just got louder."

An X user predicted that Cena would take revenge for his last fight.

"So this will probably happen...He will come out and host WrestleMania in a suit, and Gunther will come out and taunt him, which will end up with Cena giving him an Attitude Adjustment, and then all of Cena’s fans can then be happy that he got his revenge."

John Cena wrapped up his 23-year-long wrestling career in December last year. The 17-time champion, however, lost his last fight with Gunther. Now, fans would be able to see Cena at WrestleMania 42, slated to take place on April 18 and 19 at Allegiant Stadium.
