Donald Trump reportedly declared that the Grand Old Party would have won in a landslide if he were on the midterm ballot. After the Republicans lost the midterm election, the president posted the following from his Truth Social account:

"I wasn’t on the Ballot and if I was, we would have won IN A LANDSLIDE! Thank you for your attention to this matter."

The president seemingly made those remarks because Democrats scored major victories on election night and left the Republicans on course to lose their slim majority in the House of Representatives.

The Associated Press projected that Democrats might reach 51 Senate seats and separately projected how many House seats Democrats might flip to gain the majority. Donald Trump claimed Republicans would have won in a landslide if he had been running

Donald Trump's rallies and campaigns all went to waste after his party lost by 6 seats to the Democrats. After losing the election, he posted a statement on his Truth Social account saying that if he were on the ballot, he would have won.

According to CNBC TV18, the president posted another statement from his Truth Social account:

"I'm going to become a Political Pundit, both good and bad, on the reasons these Candidates won and lost!"

Trump added that he would review the factors behind both the victories and defeats of the candidates he supported.

Live Now Fox mentioned that Democrat Annie Andrews secured an unexpected victory over Republican Darline Graham in South Carolina's Senate race. The result marked a setback for Trump, who had endorsed Darline despite concerns from members of his own party.

Andrews' win also moved Democrats one seat closer to the four additional seats they needed to gain control of the Senate. In addition, the Democrats captured a seat in North Carolina and recorded important victories in New Hampshire and Georgia.

In Georgia, Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff won another term by defeating Representative Mike Collins and prevented Republicans from gaining a seat they had long considered a top target. In New Hampshire, Chris Pappas won against former Senator John Sununu.

What happened to Trump in the 2018 elections?

Thewere Republicans performed worse than they did in the 2018 election. Last time, the Republicans kept control of the United States Senate and gained two additional seats overall after unseating four Democratic senators.

According to the Independent, national security played a major role in the lead-up to the vote, with much of the debate focused on the president's effort to strengthen security along the US-Mexico border.
