President Donald Trump just signed a voluntary AI safety accord with some of the leading tech CEOs. What a great life."Pichai was standing close by and reacted with an awkward smile on his face since being called a monster (even if jokingly) isn't a good look for a tech CEO in 2026. The way tech is taking over the world, including AI getting integrated into everything, 'monster' isn't a term a tech CEO would like to be attached to.However, Trump then called Pichai by his first name, Sundar, which is meant more as the adjective than the noun. "Sundar" means "beautiful" in Hindi. It seemed to make the environment less awkward, and we also saw Sundar's expression relax. As a reaction, Pichai said:"Hopefully a better tagline than I'm a monster."He seemed to look uncomfortable initially when the President jokingly called him a monster. But he visibly relaxed and played into the joke after getting called 'Sundar.' It almost looked like his first name said as an adjective made up for the potential damage the initial nickname might have caused.We cannot know what exactly Pichai might have been thinking in that moment, but it looks like he wasn't happy with the monster comment.
