According to the latest reports by The Daily Beast and The Independent, Trump TV appears to be having a rough start, with the much-talked-about platform seeing its numbers plunge almost as quickly as they arrived.

On Monday evening, the White House launched Trump TV on its official YouTube channel, a 24/7 livestream to catch 'the Donald Trump Administration's biggest moments all in one place.' The launch came amid the Trump administration's ongoing war with mainstream media, which kick-started after the US President implemented a formal White House ban against CNN, MS NOW and Politico, for spreading 'fake' news.

The White House livestream channel will feature a mix of recent announcements, Trump's speeches at important events, and archival footage from past events.

After launching with plenty of attention surrounding Donald Trump’s latest media venture, the channel has reportedly hit its lowest numbers yet, raising questions about how much staying power it can command against mainstream media.

Trump TV hits its lowest numbers

According to data provided by The Daily Beast and The Independent, Trump TV launched on Monday at 7 p.m. with 8,000 viewers. But the White House's 24/7 livestream channel showed little staying power. The numbers dropped by half to 4,000, only 90 minutes later. By 9 p.m., the numbers for Donald Trump's channel dropped further to 3,000, suggesting people chose primetime news coverage over the President's archival speeches.

The data also proves that out of the channel's 3.18 million followers, only a small fraction (.076 percent) tuned in to Trump TV, as the numbers dropped to just 2,425 people by 10:40 p.m.

Trump TV recorded a further decline on Tuesday morning, with only 1,600 people watching as the channel recycled footage of the president signing an executive order. The numbers dropped to 1,123 on Tuesday at 3:30 a.m., when the channel featured an old presidential speech given alongside Britain’s King Charles in Windsor.

According to news outlets, ratings dipped below 1,000 viewers as the channel recycled another Trump speech, while primetime channels like ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX News geared up for their morning shows.

Dubbed Trump TV: The Essentials Station, the White House's launch drew significant attention. The promotional video of the 24/7 channel featured clips from popular TV hits such as Friends, Modern Family, Breaking Bad, The Office (US) and more, positioning it as a one-stop shop for 'must-see highlights' from the Trump administration.

Rather than maintaining the momentum generated by its debut, the channel has reportedly experienced a steep decline in viewership, reaching its lowest point since launching.

Following the White House's ban on CNN, MS Now and Politico, all four main TV networks joined in solidarity and suspended coverage of the President at events. On the other hand, CNN, MS Now and Politico filed a lawsuit in a federal court in Washington, arguing that the Trump administration's order violates the First and Fifth Amendments.
