Was Vincent Pastore married? Sopranos star was charged for  assaulting fiancée Lisa Regina in 2005

Vincent Pastore, best known for starring in The Sopranos, has passed away at the age of 80. He was found deceased at his home in the Bronx, New York on August 1, 2026.

His longtime managers, including Robert Attermann and Bob McGowan, confirmed the death. Attermann described him as “one of the kindest, most generous people.” He added that the late actor treated everyone with warmth and respect and never disappointed a fan for a photograph or autograph.

Vincent Pastore was previously married to Nancy Berke. The couple later divorced. They had one daughter together named Renee. After their divorce, the two remained on amicable terms. He later befriended Nancy’s subsequent husband and following the man’s death, he donated his winnings from The Apprentice to a charity named after him.

Pastore was charged in connection with an alleged assault on his fiancée, actress Lisa Regina.

Why did Vincent Pastore face assault allegations?

Vincent Pastore has faced assault allegations in the past because he was accused of physically assaulting his fiancée, Lisa Regina.

According to a report in Today, in February 2009, Regina asked a Manhattan state Supreme Court jury for unspecified damages for physical and psychological injuries. Regina claimed that in April 2005, the actor pulled her out of a car while grabbing her hair in Manhattan’s Little Italy. She said that he then hit her, dumped her and her luggage on the street, and drove off.

A report in ABC News Australia stated that prosecutor James Zaleta told the court that Vincent Pastore and his fiancée were in his car when they were caught in an argument. He added:

“He then grabbed her hair and forced her head between the two seats in the front ... and hit her in the right eye.”

He said that during the tussle Regina “lost her balance and fell out onto the street,” while Pastore left her lying on the road. As a result of the alleged assault, Regina suffered severe bruising, a black eye, and cuts that required medical attention.

Pastore maintained that he never attacked his fiancée; instead, he removed her from his car amid a physical altercation initiated by her, and then he sustained scratches himself. He described his relationship as volatile.

During an exclusive interview with The Post, Pastore said:

“Thank God my mother in heaven that I didn’t put my hands on that woman. I only removed her from my car. I’m the victim. I’m the guy who got beat up. I got scars on my chest, but I didn’t go to the hospital and try to get pictures done because I was hoping this was going to go away. I’m not a violent person, despite the characterizations you see on television.”

He further added:

“I got to make the front page of the New York Post with handcuffs, and my daughter and my family are devastated because I got involved with a ridiculous, crazy, insane woman – because I’m in love with her.”

Vincent Pastore was reportedly charged with two counts of assault in the third degree, one count of attempted assault, and one count of harassment. Pastore initially pleaded not guilty but later pleaded guilty in 2005 to attempted assault on Regina. He was sentenced to 70 hours of community service and anger management therapy. He was later released on $US1,000 bail and barred from having any contact with his fiancée.

Pastore asserted that he was “set up” by Regina. He claimed she initiated the physical confrontation after he expressed doubts about marriage and paternity of a potential child. He said she struck him, scratched his chest, and ripped his clothing down to his underwear.

Regina filed a civil lawsuit against Pastore in 2006 which was then settled three years later. Born in 1961, Regina was a screenwriter, an acting coach and an actress.
