Actor, comedian, and screenwriter Amanda Lehan-Canto appeared on the recent episode of the Two Dykes and Mic podcast to discuss her life, career, and so much more.During the episode, she used the word “d*ke” more than once, which has now sparked outrage online in the queer community. According to Pink News, the term is often considered to refer to lesbians and is both derogatory and offensive. It can be traced back to the mid-19th century word “bulld*ke” that was also used to describe homosexual women.“Can I say dykes?” Lehan-Canto, 38, was heard asking the hosts Rachel Scanlon and McKenzie Goodwin.When Goodwin said that it was in the weekly show’s name and suggested Amanda not say it in “that tone,” the Smosh cast member laughed and said it was “just my accent,” before adding:“Like, I was told you’re not allowed to say d*kes anymore.”This is when Scanlon tried to further lighten the mood and say that since Lehan-Canto is above 5 feet and she acknowledged that she was actually 6 feet, it was “good” for Amanda to use the term.However, the exchange didn’t sit well with many fans.An X user shared the clip and wrote:“1) this is embarrassing. However, she has been married to her husband, Hardzei “HP” Perapechka, since May 2023 in Santa Barbara, California. Before that, they dated for over 8 years (March 2015) and got engaged in New York City in January 2022.In April 2025, the couple announced that they were expecting their firstborn.
