Wedding bells are ringing inside the Kansas City Chiefs’ CEO Clark Hunt’s family as his elder daughter, Gracie Hunt, is now engaged to Derek Green, the son of retired Super Bowl-winning quarterback Trent Green.

Gracie, 27, is an NFL heiress, as her father has an estimated net worth of $2 billion, according to Celebrity Net Worth. Meanwhile, their longtime family-owned team is worth $6.8 billion.

On April 4, Gracie Hunt took to her Instagram and shared over a dozen pictures from her white-themed outdoor proposal, in the presence of close friends and family members.

“It was always you [ring emoji, red heart emoji, infinity emoji]. ‘And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.’ Romans 8:28 #engagement #engaged #love,” the caption read.

Gracie Hunt and Derek Green, 26, first sparked romance rumors in April 2025 when she teased via an Instagram live video from the Chiefs’ longtime home, the Arrowhead Stadium.

Three months later, she hard-launched their relationship in a post highlighting their tropical getaway with friends. In August, she confirmed with PEOPLE:

“Derek and I have known each other our whole lives. We would actually play together as babies during the Chiefs' Christmas parties every year, and then we reconnected as adults in 2017 and met on the sidelines pregame. We have been inseparable ever since.”

This year, on March 7, Gracie Hunt celebrated their first anniversary. She captioned the IG post:

“365 days with my best friend.”

Per his LinkedIn, Derek Green is a senior manager of sports and entertainment at the Dallas-based firm, Creative Planning. Meanwhile, Gracie Hunt heads the Chiefs’ marketing and brand development.

Clark Hunt: Life, career, fortune, and more

Clark Hunt, 61, was born into American business royalty. His grandfather, H.L. Hunt, one of the world’s first-ever billionaires who earned his fortune from Texas oil fields. In fact, he was a majority holder of East Texas Oil Fields and had an estimated net worth between $400-700 million at the time of death in 1975.

Clark’s father, Lamar Hunt, carried on the family’s legacy and soon became a major investor. Failing to buy the Chicago Cardinals and facing pushback from the NFL, Lamar Hunt joined Bud Adams (of the Houston Oilers) to form the American Football League and formed his own team, the Dallas Texans.

When the NFL responded with their own Dallas Cowboys, Lamar made the strategic decision to move his team to Kansas City and named it the Chiefs. The rest is history.

It was Clark Hunt’s dad who helped merge the AFL and the NFL in 1966. The Super Bowl was also his brainchild. Following Lamar’s death in December 2006 (aged 74), his four children acquired the Chiefs. They, in turn, named Clark Hunt the chairman and CEO.

Since then, Clark has gone above and beyond and turned the Chiefs into one of the most prominent NFL teams. In fact, it was under his leadership that they won the Super Bowl in 2020 and 2023.

Clark Hunt has a bachelor’s degree in finance and business administration from Southern Methodist University. He played for his college’s men’s soccer team and captained the victorious two-time All-American team. Fresh out of college, Mr Hunt worked at Goldman Sachs for two years before joining the family business.

Together with his father, Clark Hunt founded the Kansas City Wizards of the Major League Soccer (MLS) and is often deemed a pioneer. The Hunt family sold Wizards in 2006, ahead of Lamar’s demise.

Clark later bought FC Dallas. Elsewhere, he is a lifetime member of the MLS’ board of governors.

Clark Hunt has also had a successful personal life. He married pageant queen Tavia Shackles in 1993. They went on to have three children, including Gracie, Knobel, 23, and Ava, 21.
