Actor-comedian Dana Snyder, best known for voicing Master Shake in Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim animated series Aqua Teen Hunger Force, is currently trending after his co-voice actor, Carey Means, announced his potential homelessness.

On June 2, Means, 59, took to his Facebook and wrote:

“Homeless! Please Help!! Our rent went up, and we have to move. We have no money and no credit. Cash App is bad, not letting anyone donate, it's crazy.”

The stage and voice actor who played Frylock in Aqua Teen Hunger Force from 2000 to 2003 also shared links to his PayPal and website, urging his fans to buy his autograph or a plushie he sews.

Carey Means also launched a GoFundMe titled “Help us keep living while I sew” with a goal of $18,000. At the time of writing, it has surpassed the original ask, raising $19,896 from 489 donors.

While Means is struggling financially, his co-star Dana Snyder co-hosts the podcast None of This Matters with rapper, voice actor, comedian, and writer MC Chris, who played MC Pee Pants on Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Snyder, 52, also attends various conventions year-round.

Carey Means revealed on his GoFundMe that a 2022 medical emergency and growing rent have nearly left him and his wife, Leah, homeless. Dana Snyder has yet to address his former colleague’s financial crisis.

All you need to know about Dana Snyder’s present life

Over the last few years, Dana Snyder has been involved in multiple projects. For instance, he launched the None of This Matters weekly comedy podcast in February 2025, where he and MC Chris discuss pop culture and their creative careers over breakfast.

Dana Snyder also hosts another podcast, Dino and Dana’s Safe Space, with comedians Lisa Corrao and Bob and Ron of Chicago’s Record Club on Patreon. The podcast was originally launched in 2018 and starred Dino Stamatopoulos, Spencer Crittenden, and Tish Burns. However, the trio parted ways with Dana in January 2021.

Dana Snyder has also continued to work on stage, television, and movies. His recent voice roles in feature films include The Venture Bros: Radiant Is the Blood of the Baboon Heart and The Thundermans Return in 2023 and 2024, respectively. He also reprised his role as Master Shake on the 2022 film Aqua Teen Forever: Plantasm.

The television voice projects include The Thundermans: Undercover (2025-present), Chibiverse (2022-present), The Patrick Star Show (2021-present), and a 2026 episode of Cartoon Cartoons as Buttons T. Rat.

In 2023, Dana Snyder played Mister Mxyzptlk on the Justice League: Cosmic Chaos video game. Last year, he also lent his voice to another video game called Date Everything!. Earlier this year, Dana Snyder appeared as Megaphone Man in the webcomics Cyanide & Happiness.

Elsewhere, the Allentown, PA-born artist offers autographs and photo ops during conventions. According to Galaxycon.com, he has scheduled Galaxycons across various U.S. cities from July to October. These include New Orleans, Raleigh, Orlando, Des Moines, Philadelphia, and Milwaukee.

Dana Snyder is currently signed with MN2S talent/ booking agency. He has been married to Christine Snyder for two decades and they share a child.

In January 2024, he reunited with his Aqua Teen Hunger Force castmate Carey Means and co-creator Dave Willis (also played Carl and Meatwad) at ‘Animate,’ an event organized at Raleigh Convention Center. Back then, Means noted:

“When I did the audition, I was like, ‘What is this?’ A floating box of French fries?’ [They] explained what Frylock was: he’s the straight man and wants to solve the mystery, the other two were idiots, so that’s all I had to go on.”

Now, according to Carey Means’ GoFundMe, he needs to keep paying his rent, electricity bills, buy groceries, and keep up with their medical expenses. He also spoke about his plushie business and how he started it a year ago with the money he got from attending conventions and used the sewing machine he already had.

However, work opportunities have been scarce in the last couple of years, pushing them towards bankruptcy. Meanwhile, they recently became an LLC after hitting a certain amount and had to go ahead and register with the state, which further complicated matters.

“The money from this GoFundMe is really for keeping the lights on, internet, and food. I make maybe 20-30 dollars on each toy I make, if that. I know I need to keep the prices low to make sure that people can afford them. This isn't a great way to make money; this is really a work of love. If, however, I succeed at this and grow the business more, maybe it will become something great,” Carey wrote.

He continued his message:

“In the meantime, I really would like to eat, have lights, and still be able to be online talking to everyone and advertising the shop. Every little bit helps. Thank you so, so much!”

In an additional note, his wife, Leah, mentioned having a regular job, and Carey is trying to get back to doing conventions. However, she added that his congestive heart failure and “disability” often make it difficult and they needed at least a year more to get their life on track if they found real help from real people.

Last month, Leah shared an update that she and her husband were in a car accident earlier this year, which added to their already deteriorating health issues. Back then, she wrote on social media:

"Every time I think that things are looking up, something else happens to make it impossible. Now I have a new car payment and insurance, when before I did not. The tree falling on the apartment years ago caused me to have to move and pay twice as much rent. Carey's heart failure happened, and now he can't work in a dish pit, so that is out of the question. He is trying to get disability, but that may not even happen.”

Leah added she tried to help Carey with the sewing, but they were both tired and unable to sleep, terrified that they were about to “lose everything anyway.”
