Boy Meets World’s actor Will Friedle has called out his former co-star, Ben Savage, for ghosting him and the whole cast of the show.
Friedle (who played Eric Matthews), along with Danielle Fishel (Topanga) and Rider Strong (Shawn) have openly addressed their estrangement from Savage (Cory Matthews) in interviews and on their Pod Meets World podcast.
They have described how Savage gradually distanced himself from the cast and stopped communicating with them around 2020 after previously being in a close friendship with them.

In 2023, the three hosts revealed that Ben Savage had ghosted them for no reason. While speaking with Variety they explained that there was no animosity, no fight and no falling out. Savage simply stopped responding to their calls and text messages. Fishel added that Savage kind of “disappeared” from their lives.
In an exclusive chat with People magazine, the podcasters told that they invited Savage to join them on Pod Meets World but he declined and halted their communication.

What happened between Ben Savage and the Boy Meets World cast?
Ben Savage has reportedly become distant from his Boy Meets World cast members, particularly Danielle Fishel, Rider Strong and Will Friedle.
In a recent chat with People magazine, Friedle said that it has been “hard” for them as they all maintained a close friendship in the past. He said:
“It's been hard. I mean, just today, literally we were recording an episode this morning of Pod Meets World and there came a question that we all wanted to know, that we know if Ben had been on with us, it would have been answered like that and we would have heard a great story.”
Friedle added that he has not given up on his friendship with Ben Savage, whom he has known since the age of 11. He told People:
"I haven't given up on my friend. And I'm hoping that he comes back into our lives at some point, and when he does, we're going to have a lot to talk about."

Friedle, Strong and Fishel shared about their growing distance with Ben Strong in a June 2023 interview with Variety. At that time, they told the outlet that they had not heard from Ben Savage for three years. Fishel said:
“He just kind of disappeared from our lives. He ghosted us.”
Fishel, who played Ben’s love interest in Boys Meet World, explained how Ben had been supportive of her during her son’s premature birth in 2019. She said that he checked on her regularly but something happened after that and he got disconnected.
Boy Meets World was created by April Kelly and Michael Jacobs. The show made its debut on ABC in September 1993. It premiered as part of the network’s TGIF comedy block at 8:30 pm, between Family Matters and Step by Step. It was a coming-of-age sitcom which followed the life of Cory Matthews from sixth grade through high school to a married college graduate. The show continued for seven seasons before wrapping up in 2000.
Fourteen years later, Disney Channel premiered Girl Meets World featuring Rowan Blanchard as Riley Matthews and Sabrina Carpenter as Maya Hart with Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel reprising their characters as Cory and Topanga.
Since distancing himself from his Boy Meets World cast members, Ben has ventured into politics. In 2022, he ran for a seat on the West Hollywood City Council but was not elected. In 2023, he announced his candidacy as a Democrat for California’s 30th Congressional District in 2024. He lost in the primary elections in March 2024.
