Veteran conservative TV presenter Sean Hannity cleared the air about his “swollen” face and difficulty speaking on the June 22 episode of his self-titled talk radio show, The Sean Hannity Show. Addressing his co-host Lynda McLaughlin, he said:

“Lynda, don’t I sound better today? Aren’t you excited to hear my voice back?”

McLaughlin responded:

“I am, and I think America is excited that you’re not dying of a stroke.”

She was seemingly referring to growing concerns among fans about Sean Hannity’s health and appearance that surfaced last week during his JD Vance interview on his eponymous political commentary program for Fox News.

Hannity, 64, revealed in his health update that he was diagnosed with a bad sinus infection earlier this month, which led to laryngitis.

“I didn't want to take this crappy medicine called prednisone, so he just said ride it out...” he explained.

Despite his clarification, there was a fresh wave of concern on X following his June 23 appearance on Fox News. Some of the reactions include:

“What has happened to Sean Hannity? Is he ill? Is he on steroidal meds?” a netizen asked.
“It's clear @seanhannity is having medical issues. Bloated face. Can't speak. Can't catch his breath. Hope he's okay,” another netizen wrote.
“Why is Hannity’s face so swollen? Did he have dental work done?” a concerned viewer asked.
“What the hell? Hannity has a puffy face. Is he having health problems?” a fan asked.
“What’s going on with Sean Hannity? Is it just me, or has he blown up like a balloon?” an individual raised concern.

Sean Hannity has a history of vaping

In September 2017, Sean Hannity faced backlash after being caught on camera smoking an e-cigarette, aka a replica of an actual cigarette. In a viral video uploaded on his X, he was seen taking a pull of a vape pen on the set of his nighttime broadcast, drinking water, before returning on-air.

At the time, Hannity was advocating for the repeal and replacement of Obamacare under Trump’s first term. As a result, people pointed out on social media that if he ever fell sick due to his smoking or otherwise, he could use his work insurance or afford to pay for himself, but not every U.S. citizen could do the same and needed Obamacare to stay in place.

It is noteworthy that Sean Hannity later clarified via X that his e-cigarette was “not real” and he had quit smoking cigars.

The conservative broadcaster/ author also triggered controversy during the COVID-19 pandemic. Initially, he downplayed the risks and described it “as bad as the flu.”

Later, in July 2021, he walked back on his earlier remarks and urged fellow Americans to take it “seriously.”

“Please take Covid seriously. I can’t say it enough. Enough people have died. We don’t need any more death. Research like crazy. Talk to your doctor, your doctors, medical professionals you trust based on your unique medical history, your current medical condition, and you and your doctor make a very important decision for your own safety.”

While focusing on “doctor-patient confidentiality” and “medical privacy,” Sean added:

“And it absolutely makes sense for many Americans to get vaccinated. I believe in science, I believe in the science of vaccination.”

Sean Hannity warned that in “rare cases” there might be severe side effects of the vaccines, especially for those with “serious underlying health conditions.” He asked his viewers to conduct sufficient research, consult their doctors, and make the final decision depending on what’s “best for you.”

Last week, ahead of the JD Vance interview, Hannity appeared to slur his words and his face looked “swollen” while giving the Vice President a formal introduction, which first raised concern about his health. Back then, many thought he had undergone a dental procedure, a stroke, or was on Botox.
