Stephanie Pratt has strongly opposed her brother, Spencer Pratt’s bid for the Los Angeles mayor, levelling serious allegations against him.

The Hills alum took to X on February 14, arguing that her brother is unfit for the citywide leadership. Acknowledging his efforts in the Pacific Palisades, she called him an “unqualified and inexperienced” candidate for the role of mayor in LA.

She claimed in another tweet that his campaign aims to promote his recently-released memoir, The Guy You Loved to Hate: Confessions from a Reality TV Villain. This post was followed by other posts where Stephanie Pratt claimed to have been physically assaulted by her brother at the age of 18. She also claimed that Spencer introduced her to drugs as a teen and that he was part of a cult.

The siblings have shared estranged relationship for almost 20 years. They fell apart after Stephanie Pratt joined in season 3 of The Hills where she sided with Lauren Conrad over time which Spencer saw as a huge betrayal. Exploring the family rift between Stephanie Pratt and Spencer Pratt

Stephanie Pratt’s February 14 X posts slamming Spencer Pratt’s LA mayoral bid reignited their long-term sibling feud, which has persisted since around 2019. He reportedly announced his candidacy in January 2026 at a Palisades fire anniversary rally.

The 39-year-old actress joined season three of MTV’s The Hills. She initially defended her brother and his then-girlfriend, Heidi Montag, amid their feud with Lauren Conrad. Over time, her alliances shifted and she ended up bonding with Conrad. On the other hand, she had clashes with her brother and Montag, and the duo ended up leaving in the middle of the final season of the show.

Spencer married Heidi in November 2008 and is now a parent to two children. They are still together and live in California, despite a brief separation in 2010.

During an episode of her podcast Pratt Cast, Stephanie Pratt admitted to not being on speaking terms with her brother, calling him and her sister-in-law “the most toxic people” she has ever met. According to a report in E! News, she said on the podcast:

“We are not on good terms. We are not on speaking terms, I do not consider them my family. I'm not going to pretend that Spencer and Heidi are good people like I was doing for most of the series for my parents … They are the most toxic people I've ever met.”

Stephanie Pratt also blamed Heidi for her fall out with her brother and said that if it was not her, she “would have had an epic relationship with her brother and her parents.

Stephanie also expressed frustration with her parents for seemingly favoring Spencer and pressuring her to overlook issues. She once shared a quote on an Instagram post, which read:

“Some of the most poisonous people come disguised as family. They never cease to amaze me -good thing I always pray for my enemies.”

She also opened up about feeling deeply excluded and “left out” from Montag and Spencer Pratt's pregnancy announcement for their first child. Their child, Gunner Stone, was born in October 2017.
