All we know about Keith Hernandez’s net worth

Former Major League Baseball first baseman Keith Hernandez sparked an interest in his fortune when he recently made a revelation about receiving sizable residuals from his appearances on Seinfeld, decades after the sitcom ended.

Hernandez was born in October 1953 in San Francisco, California. His mother was Jacquelyn Jordan. She was from Beaumont, Texas. His father, John Hernandez, was a minor‑league first baseman who had been a prospect for the Brooklyn Dodgers before World War II. He played several years in the minors after being drafted by Brooklyn, but his career was derailed by a head injury from a pitch and later by time in the Navy.

His background shaped Keith Hernandez and his brother, Gary’s, upbringing. He drilled them in baseball from a young age, pressing them to practice and refine their skills. Keith eventually became an outstanding player in his high school and at the College of San Mateo. He was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 42nd round of the 1971 MLB Draft.

Success came to Keith Hernandez steadily starting from the first pro season in 1972 and growing into a Hall‑of‑Fame‑level career. He signed with the St. Louis Cardinals and began in 1972 with the Class‑A St. Petersburg Cardinals in the Florida State League.

Over the next few years, he kept moving up the minors as he gradually improved his hitting and sharpening his defense at first base as he climbed from Class‑A St. Petersburg to Double‑A Arkansas and then Triple‑A Tulsa.

He made his major league debut in August 1974 with the St. Louis Cardinals, from there Keith Hernandez became paved his path to success and became one of the best all‑around first basemen in baseball. According to Celebrity Net Worth, he earned roughly $17 million in salary during his baseball career. This is which is equivalent to about $40 million after adjusting for inflation.

After retiring, Hernandez remained in the public eye as a Mets TV broadcaster, earning a steady income. On top of that, his appearances on Seinfeld add to his overall wealth with a small but significant portion coming from residuals where he earns roughly $ 5,000 per year.
