Miami-born blogger-columnist Perez Hilton, whose real name is Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr, sparked concern about his well-being after he went live on TikTok and tried to harm himself and claiming, “I am doing this for my children” and “This is what you wanted.”During the livestream, Hilton, 48, was completely exposed, covered in a thick red liquid substance from head to toe (which resembled blood), held a sharp object, and struck himself multiple times while saying things like, “Why am I not dead yet?” and “I want to be dead.” He was also heard moaning in pain and pleasure, while adding:“Actually, let me explain to you all everything. I am a loser… I am giving it to you… I am surprised TikTok lets this stay… f**k you, TikTok…”Perez Hilton also spoke about trying to provoke a police response, saying, “Shoot me motherf**kers, the police are here,” as several cuts were seen across his face and body. TikTok took down the livestream after 30 minutes and his account was suspended.Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office told Page Six that they received “multiple calls” of an “individual livestreaming acts of self-harm on social media” on Tuesday night and sent deputies to the scene. After learning from his family members that he was “alone” inside the house, officers decided to “tactfully disengage” and continued to “monitor the situation” before eventually recovering Hilton.“The individual has been safely recovered and transported by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to a local hospital, where he is receiving medical attention. The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office Crisis Response Unit and Licensed Mental Health Professionals are also on scene providing support and resources to the individual’s family,” the department shared in a statement.Before the update, netizens raised concern about Perez Hilton and his three children, whom he welcomed via surrogacy. In March, he was hospitalized for three weeks after taking his flu medication on an empty stomach and developed an ulcer, perforation, and sepsis. Perez also had to undergo laparoscopic surgery, cardiac treatment, drainage of the lungs, and more.Back then, he called it a “crazy saga” and the “worst and best thing that’s ever happened to me.” Perez Hilton urged viewers to take medicines with meals and pledged to spend more time with his family:“I’m going to have dinner with my kids and my mom every night from now on.”The following month, he provided a health update and said that he required “emergency surgery” to remove a blood clot.“I am so thankful to God that we caught this early because if that blood clot had gone to my lungs or my heart, it could have been real bad.”In the wake of the back-to-back medical scare, Perez Hilton claimed to have found God:“God presented himself to me and then did something.
