Following his performance at the Big 12 Championship Game halftime set, American country singer and songwriter Jon Pardi is receiving backlash.

Commandeering the stage for ten minutes, Pardi performed some of his biggest hits.

Several fans expressed their disappointment online and condemned his vocals.

Following the conclusion of the Texas Tech-BYU game, college football fans took to social media to share their opinion of Jon Pardi’s halftime performance. Some fans in attendance uploaded clips of his set online, prompting more criticism of his performance.

The singer received near-unanimous criticism for his halftime show, with several netizens claiming he was off-key and sounded horrible.

An X user tweeted:

“I have secondhand embarrassment from Jon Pardi’s halftime show. That sounded horrible. How do I get into the music business? I might actually have a shot at it.”

Another user wrote:

“I'm a big Jon Pardi fan, but oh my god did he just suck as bad as I think he did at the Big 12 Championship halftime show?”

And another user added:

“Jon Pardi might be the worst sounding country artist I’ve ever heard live. That was awful. He sounded like a neighborhood bar karaoke singer.”

More netizens condemned his performance, describing it as the worst they’ve ever seen.

A user unfamiliar with the singer and his music wrote:

“Watching the Texas Tech halftime show. I have no idea who this Jon Pardi is, but it's like someone ordered John Michael Montgomery from Temu.. and he showed up tone deaf. What happened to country music?!!”

An X user pointing out the marching band stated:

“That halftime show by Jon Pardi sucked a--. Why the f-ck was the Marching Band out there doing nothing while Jon played three of his popular songs? I saw only one couple dancing there and I’m pretty sure it was cause the Camera was there.”

Another user added:

“Don’t get me wrong, I love some Jon Pardi. This halftime performance is the some of the worst sh-t I’ve seen. And I’m hungover. Cheers.”
