The Fall franchise is back with Fall 2: Deadpoint. Experiencing vertigo was the collective reaction of survival thriller fans after watching Fall. The 2022 sleeper hit turned a basic climb around into a nerve-racking nightmare; audiences were left dangling at the end of the rope and on edge.

Rather than reviving the same characters or setting, the sequel seems to add new faces, exhilarating adventures, and another do-or-die quest for survival in the same universe. The theatre release date has been announced along with important casting details, making fans a little more familiar with what they can expect when the franchise rises to higher echelons with Fall 2: Deadpoint.

Fall 2: Deadpoint release date

The biggest of the many questions surrounding the sequel has now been answered: Fall 2: Deadpoint will release in theaters on September 2, 2026. The survival thriller was scheduled for an early-summer release but will now be coming out late in the year.

The sequel is arriving almost four years after the original film, wowing the crowd with the suspenseful storyline. This time, it seems Deadpoint is up to a novel trick of taking things to a higher level, and putting its characters in a new, deadly situation: a terrifying high-altitude plank walk. With its September release, Deadpoint is shaping up to be one of 2026's most anticipated survival thrillers, promising more dizzying heights and edge-of-your-seat suspense.

A new cast takes the franchise to dangerous new heights.

One of the most significant things about Fall 2: Deadpoint is its all-new cast. The film follows Harriet Slater as Jax, a woman who is struggling to come to terms with the loss of her sister, as she embarks on a dangerous journey with her fearless friend, Luce, played by Arsema Thomas. There's also a pivotal, but unnamed, role that Tom Brittney holds in the film.

Taking over creative duties are brothers Peter and Michael Spierig, with co-writer Jonathan Frank, and the original Fall creator, Scott Mann, is back with them as well. Deadpoint is a new story with new characters, seeking to build on the franchise but maintain the suspense and fear of height elements that its predecessor had so established.

What to expect

The first Fall made viewers terrified of climbing towers, but Fall 2: Deadpoint's terror lies in remote scenic mountain attractions. The movie tells the story of Jax, travelling to Thailand's Mount Kwan with her late sister's friend Luce to heal. When a rock slide leaves them on a dangerous platform above ground, their tribute turns into a dangerous game of death.

The sequel, which maintains the original's signature isolation and danger that makes it vertigo-inducing, also has added emotional elements of grief, trauma, and resilience. The outcome will be a survival challenge of high suspense and personally-defined loss and healing.
